What do I need from B&M?

Going to a big B&M this week with a friend. We don't have one and I've not been to one in over a year.

What are your must-haves? Christmas, non-Christmas, and everything in between...

Thanks.

We have a B&M the size of a supermarket about 3 miles from us, I've never come out with less than about 10 items!

skankingpiglet · 29/11/2020 22:37

Scampi fries and Royster's T-bone steak crisps, toffee chocolate nibbles, cake sprinkles, and alcoholic dandelion and burdock.

Winterfairy23 · 29/11/2020 22:43

The friends jigsaw they're selling in the Christmas gift aisle

A blanket to snuggle with on the sofa in December

Festive zoflora

Skinny crunch bars in orange and mint

Tea lights

Batteries

RaininSummer · 29/11/2020 22:48

All the flavours of Zoflora and several hot water bottles.

ParkheadParadise · 29/11/2020 22:49

Elbow Grease
Tea lights
Santa Sack
Kitchen Roll ( 6 pack)
Monster Munch Multipack

Ilovelblue · 29/11/2020 22:52

B&M is like Homesense and TK Maxx - you go in with nothing in mind and come out with all sorts of things you never knew you needed!

goingtosnow · 29/11/2020 22:54

I usually get

Dry shampoo
Sensodyne toothpaste
Kids toothpaste
Fairy
Dettol
Felight Cat litter
Their own cheap brand toilet roll £1.99 for pack of 9
Face masks
Kids face masks
Liquorice allsorts
Hot wheels for kids

And then.... random tat

Nobody 'needs' anything from B&M, that's the point of the place. You go in not needing anything and come out with chocolate, fancy sea salt, curry gravy blocks, pyjamas, drain cleaner, cushions and a torch.

Reallybadidea · 29/11/2020 22:57

If you've got dogs then get a bag of their dog treats. Tiny little things, either bone shapes or hearts. They appear to be some sort of doggy crack - my two would walk over hot coals to get to them, even the fussy as fuck poodle.

EmmaWithTheGreatHair · 29/11/2020 23:00

Our B&M has an annoying high pitched alarm that goes off every minute or so, I’m not sure why, possibly due to delivery doors constantly opening and closing? It makes it a less enjoyable shopping experience!

HeyListenNavi · 29/11/2020 23:02

Branningan's thick cut roast beef and mustard crisps, so good!

RedToothBrush · 29/11/2020 23:03

@Bupkiss

Nothing.

You don't NEED anything from B&M. You will however spend £££ on random crap.

This.

Its actually been great this year not being willing to go to B&M for the sheer sake of it.

I will go in the spring to get some more garden pots and avoid it as much as possible.

Its a money draining shitheap of crap.

mumwon · 29/11/2020 23:04

it sounds like a memory game Grin
actually I look out for variety pack of cereals for going away & individual multipacks of jam milk & marmalade
twinnings everyday tea (if they have it)
gluten free bread (ditto)
Large bottles of good quality shampoo & shower gel (lasts ages)
large bottles of washing up liquid
& random things I didn't know I needed

PontiacBandit · 29/11/2020 23:05

Massive bars of Milka. Scampi and Bacon Fries.

haircutsRus · 29/11/2020 23:06

DS used to work there. You can imagine what our house is like.

RedToothBrush · 29/11/2020 23:07

@AngryFishes

One waits for b&m to tell you what you need....

Yep, all of that plus the place is feral so you'll probs catch covid.

Nope thats Primark on Wednesday.
RedToothBrush · 29/11/2020 23:09

The opportunity to empty your bank account on pointless crap.

Has anyone here ever entered B&M and exited without buying anything? Is it possible?

Ginormarse · 29/11/2020 23:10

I made a special trip to my local B&M last week for the sole purpose of stocking up on the multi bags of scampi and bacon fries. They don't stock them anymore 😭😭😭
I left with a cushion, maryland cookies, haribo squashems and some pot noodles.

Farcry66 · 29/11/2020 23:12

We like to get the flavoured straws that you drink milk with. In fact, that's often the only thing we come out the shop with .... unless the kids have pocket money, then it's anyone's guess!!!

Naz2009 · 29/11/2020 23:13

Kids gifts. B&M does a fab variety of toys and crafts stuff for kids. They always have a selection of toys on a deal 2 for £20 or 2 for £16.
I mainly go in for that. You can always find really good Xmas gifts and stocking fillers.
One stop shop for everything you could need
From home decor to pet food.
Best way to describe B&M. It's a Primark for your home.
You know how you go into primark to pick up one item. But walk out with half the shop.
It's the same.
Have fun and enjoy splurging out. It's all value for money.

Redyoyo · 29/11/2020 23:13

I went today for extra set of tree lights and i had to queue for half an hour to get in. I got the lights for my tree, a Christmas jumper for the dog, new cushions for the livingroom, Christmas tags, stuffing, 2 bottles of sauce and a Santa hat!

thelittlestrhino · 29/11/2020 23:24

@APurpleSquirrel

Salty2020 · 29/11/2020 23:32
