Mine has never been so high! It’s on a meter but at the end of the payment year ( March/apkril I think it was) I got £700 Back due to overpayment

What does everyone else pay?

£17.47 per month. Not metered, 2 of us in a 4 bed detached house. Showers daily, 3-4 loads of washing per week, normal amounts of washing up etc. Horrified at some of the sums being quoted on here. Eek!!

Alarae · 26/11/2020 17:28

£40 a month at the moment, but that was increased because we used more than their original DD amount allowed for, so we were paying effectively for 18 months usage.

I reckon it should go down to around £32ish from December.

Pinkyandthebrainz · 26/11/2020 17:29

£23 1 adult 3 bed
@fluffycloudland77. Can you explain more about surface water??

I had a roof put on my house from a flat roof, and they dug a soakaway in the front garden for the rainwater from the new roof. The rain from the back goes into a barrel for the garden. Does this mean I can get a refund too??
TIA
Possibly, you need to ring them and start the process.

I wouldn’t mention the water butt, they don’t count.

Split into 8 monthly payments of about £60

EffOrf · 26/11/2020 17:45

£40 a month on water meter, 2 adults but water garden a lot in summer.

Snozzlemaid · 26/11/2020 23:18

@PhilCornwall1

Not metered, we are paying £102 per month.
Hi from another one suffering the extortionate Cornish water costs.
Sherin18 · 26/11/2020 23:20

£37

5zeds · 26/11/2020 23:27

£50 pcm metered for 6. Mostly showers but endless laundry and dishwasher.

PhilCornwall1 · 27/11/2020 03:45

@Snozzlemaid crazy what they charge down here isn't it. We keep being told to go on a meter, but with an 18 year old who lives in the shower and the endless clothes two teens generate for washing, we are avoiding that at the moment.

Gingerkittykat · 27/11/2020 05:02

I'm in Scotland and just looked it up and I pay £138 for water and £160 for waste water so a total of £298 a year.

The highest charge in my area is £414 for water and £480 for waste water so £894 a year.

It's added on to the council tax bill.

Pemberleys · 27/11/2020 05:09

Wow this is an eye opener. I'm in Scotland so it's a standard change as part of my Council Tax.

I had no idea people were charged by usage elsewhere. I guess that's privatisation for you.
