woke up for a wee and stuck it out for a bit as have a new dog who unsettles easily, and I did not want to disturb him.... decided at 4 I couldn't go back to sleep so got up....dog merely huffed at me and went back to sleep!

Went back to bed, but WIDE AWAKE, so gave up before five and got up...have emptied dishwasher, tidied kitchen and have bread in the mixer and coffee in my hand

Dog came down about 20 minutes ago and asked to go out, and the cats are out now too.

It's going to be a long day...I feel an afternoon nap coming on already!

teenagetantrums · 21/11/2020 05:51

I have been awake since 4am. I never sleep well. My alarm will go off in 10 minute anyway so am going to get up and have a coffee then get ready for work. Hopefully l will be tired tonight and will get an early-ish night.

Morning
I have been awake for an hour or so with exacerbation of my asthma. Usually well controlled but have had burning chest pain and breathlessness for a couple of weeks. Now struggling a bit to move the air in and out. Hopefully oral steroids and amoxicillin will help. It's scary and reminds me of why I have been shielding.

Magicsprinkles · 21/11/2020 05:55

Hope it helps, that sounds awful. Laurie that’s amazing. I’m still awake but no way do I want to leave my nest!

Not to alarm you (I'm chronically asthmatic too), but the burning sensation is a typical covid symptom. So it may be worth getting tested. 🤞

And, its madness that by 6am I've tidied up, put dry laundry away, wet laundry hung up and haven't even had a cuppa!

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 21/11/2020 06:19

@MotherExtraordinaire I am wondering about laundry now too....I shoved in the dining room curtains last night and I could get another load started and put them in the dryer | suppose.

and @Magicsprinkles if it wasn't for dh snoring I'd have gone back to bed with a coffee and the dog, but it just makes me furious to hear him so getting up means I can be all smug and triumphant when he surfaces which is some small compensation for the early rising.

On the plus side I did get to have some unwholesome thoughts about Huey Morgan...that man needs a prime time radio show, not shoved on in the wee small hours. I do like an American badboy type.

I have been up since 4:50am. I have a 2 week old. Apparently sleeping on me and definitely not in the moses basket is the order of the morning. DD1 will be up in an hour. I have made a strong coffee.

Magicsprinkles · 21/11/2020 06:35

lauriescahffer that made me laugh - and feel a bit less guilty! I could certainly do with getting the washing on..but no! Staying right here. The joys of sleeping in separate rooms!

And snoring DH gives me the rage too! He sleeps in the spare room when he's been drinking so I don't murder him in the night AngrySad

Not managed to actually fall asleep yet! I guess I may as well give up and try and get through the day

I didn't know that, I had that a few weeks ago alongside a migraine.
