How long do you spend in the shower?

It must take me about 10 minutes. I do feel I spend far too long in the shower in the mornings. How long is normal?

I don't really know, can't be more than 2-3 mins, I shall time myself Grin.

DelphineWalsh · 20/11/2020 11:15

4 Minutes or there abouts. We've got a little sand timer thing we got free from the water company. I'd rather have a hot bath if I'm faffing about pampering.

yikesanotherbooboo · 20/11/2020 11:16

Usually Very quick ie less than 5 minutes , a couple of minutes more if hairwashing or in the shower to warm up for some reason. I like the hot water on my back but it feels wasteful to hang about.

carolebaskinfedhimtothetigers · 20/11/2020 11:21

2/3 minutes if I'm not washing hair and 10-15 minutes if washing hair. That doesn't include shaving legs though as I do them before I get in the shower because I stand with my leg on the corner of the bath and use the sink for water (separate bath and shower).

coldspaghettio · 20/11/2020 11:23

20 mins.

PurBal · 20/11/2020 11:24

I've got it down to a cool 7 minutes exactly.

goodwinter · 20/11/2020 11:25

About 5 mins, maybe 10-15 if I'm doing a full shave. I wash my hair separately, that's about 15 mins in itself.

NancysDream · 20/11/2020 11:25

3 mins on weekdays (I will just have a quick strip wash if the shower is busy, but that actually takes me longer!), about 5-10 mins on the weekend.
But I will bath for 30-60mins most evenings. That's when I get clean. The morning is just to freshen up.

TerrifiedandWorried · 20/11/2020 11:25

7 minutes exactly.

petrocellihouse · 20/11/2020 11:32

Under a minute! For me it's a functional activity. Increases to two if I need to wash my hair. Perfectly possible to do it all in that time.

S111n20 · 20/11/2020 11:37

10-15 mins.

Freshprincess · 20/11/2020 11:39

5-10 minutes is washing hair/or shaving my pits and legs. Less than 5 if not.

I don’t like hanging about.

spiderlight · 20/11/2020 13:03

I spend about 20 minutes in the shower every morning. This includes washing my (long) hair every day, but to be honest I don't rush because it's the one part of the day when nobody's making any demands of me!

formerbabe · 20/11/2020 13:04

2 minutes....a hangover from when my dc were young and I had no time...!

Mixedupworld · 20/11/2020 13:06

I'm in a wheelchair and can't walk. From getting out of bed, onto shower chair, wheeled into shower, showered and hair washed, then dried, creams applied, dressed and transferred to wheelchair, about half an hour.

PolytheneHam · 20/11/2020 13:06

I never shower without washing my hair. Usually about five minutes.

firesong · 20/11/2020 13:12

About five mins? Longer in the bath as I shave my legs etc, or I lie there with music and chill. Showers are quick.

firesong · 20/11/2020 13:15

I wouldn't say I rush those five mins though, to answer someone who asked about quick showers being rushed. I just don't really want to stand there for ages once I'm clean.

MrsKingfisher · 20/11/2020 13:20

For those of you who are saying 2 mins, are you washing all of you?

I'm around 7-10 mins in the morning, longer at night. I like to make sure all of me is squeaky clean! I love a shower I could be in it for hours if it weren't so bad to waste water.

User258544 · 20/11/2020 13:23

3 mins if I have to get the train to work. At home maybe 5-7 mins to wash, do legs. Sometimes I eke it out a couple of mins longer as it is nice. If washing hair, 15. I have got into the habit of not brushing my hair on lockdown and it took me 45 to get the knots out Blush

User258544 · 20/11/2020 13:23

^I have vv thick hair.

CorianderLord · 20/11/2020 16:09

20 minutes. Shower every three days due to skin condition so I sit in the bath and lounge with the shower on. TV playing, lots of hair masks and skincare.

Lovely.

Meruem · 20/11/2020 16:16

I suspect I may have some sensory issues as a shower feels to me like lots of little needles hitting my skin. It is not in any way pleasurable. I always have a bath when I can but sometimes time restraints mean a shower. Therefore I’m in and out as quick as possible. Maybe 3 minutes tops.

I don’t wash my hair daily so that gets done leaning over the bath when it needs washing.

Salamander91 · 20/11/2020 16:22

5-10 mins if just washing hair. Up to 20 if I need to shave and/or it's cold and I don't want to get out of the warm water Grin

weegiemum · 20/11/2020 16:28

About 2 minutes and that includes washing my hair I'm disabled and have trouble balancing with eyes shut so I've got it down to a fine art.

My teenagers, on the other hand, are in there all day!
