Nostalgia time- can anyone remember?

I'm talking about 1970s-1980s soap and talc style gift sets. This is driving me mad trying to remember...a particular brand, always around at Christmas...
It's not:
Woods of Windsor
Morny
Crabtree and Evelyn.

Any ideas on this vague conundrum of mine?

I've got a bottle of Kiku perfume. It was the last one my gran bought before she died in 1986

@ifancyagreencard

Anyone else remember Kiki talc? With the puffball applicator?
Yep, my older sister had it. I can still smell it, if I concentrate.

Sounds like Yardley! Did you get little balls of bath oil as well?

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 19/11/2020 21:17

Flower Garden?

Oh! I think that could be it! I don't recall that fragrance but I think that's the packaging. I had a blue one I think. Off to Google! Thanks all! Will be scouring eBay and spending a fortune! Brew

That's a beautiful memory. Keep it forever. Flowers

Lentheric? Purveyors of such fragrant offerings as Panache, Mystique and nan’s fave (apparently) Tweed.

I still wear Panache!

I can almost smell some of these ! Born in the early 70's and I still remember the excitement of getting my mum's cast off bottle of L'air du Temps with a couple of squirts left in it Smile

LongPauseNoAnswer · 20/11/2020 07:37

Oh wow I’m both over invested in the answer and overwhelmed by memories of these Christmas sets Grin

We didn’t have Boots in Ireland in the 80s and early 90s. I remember my family and some neighbours hired a coach to take us to Belfast where we ooohed and aaaahed over the exotic delights of Boots and Argos Grin

I think the blue set might have been bluebell scented??

You have triggered a memory for me of a body wash product called ‘all over softly‘ ???? that came out in the 1980’s. In my memory the Advert had a girl having a bath outside in a barrel on a ranch. I think the bottle was shaped like a shell. It was so so creamy and bubbly when you used it with a sponge and it smelled gorgeous. Haven’t thought about that for years

PajamasnoDramas · 20/11/2020 17:54

From what I can gather they were available in honeysuckle (I had talc), rose, freesia, lily of the valley and sandalwood. Not found any blue ones yet though.

PajamasnoDramas · 20/11/2020 17:58

Bah! I stand corrected the blue one is forget-me-not,

Yes! Forget-me-not! (Ironically Grin) Brilliant, thank you!

I just so remember hanging my nose over these gift sets from about October onwards and really wanting them all!
