Does anyone actually pay for mumsnet premium?

I'm quiet new here and I was just wondering if anyone actually pays for premium? I'd understand if it was some sort of charity, but if not the premium features don't seem worth it.

Don't get ads on the app, for free.

LizaE · 16/11/2020 18:19

I would never pay because you can be banned in an instant for no reason other than someone in the 'in clique' reports your post.

And Justine should take a pay cut from 25k a month too, before begging from people facing redundancy etc imo.

copperoliver · 16/11/2020 18:25

No. X

SpeedofaSloth · 16/11/2020 18:53

Yes, it stopped the moving adverts which I find hard to look at.

WillowintheUK · 16/11/2020 18:55

Justine’s on £25K a month!?!??! Good grief.

Reason enough not to pay. I don’t use it enough to make it worthwhile paying.

Flowerfrenzy · 16/11/2020 19:15

No, I only use the forum and we create the content.

lachy · 16/11/2020 19:20

I don't use the app, I use the full site on my phone.

I hate the constant barrage of ads so its worth a fiver a month to avoid them.

Mumsnet has been a godsend, the advice I've been given and the things I've learnt over the last 10 ish years has been life changing and so I'm happy to pay.

fucknuckle · 16/11/2020 21:03

nope. i use free adblockers. every so often i get a stern pop up informing me that they’re onto me and know i use adblockers. i just click past it, it’s bollocks.

it’s the internet, not my family. i don’t owe them a penny for the user-generated content that keeps this place going. plus the ‘launch’ was basically a begging letter from a very wealthy businesswoman and i’m not falling for that.

Otamot · 16/11/2020 21:08

Not me.

We forum members provide the content (who reads the main site, honestly?). They in turn monetise us and our posts inno books, blog posts, and advertising opportunities. They should pay us!Grin

GemmeFatale · 17/11/2020 19:22

Nope. I only use the forum and frankly we’re the content creators and the product. I’m not paying to be used.

purpledagger · 17/11/2020 19:50

No.

I enjoy it on here, but I don't pay for any other forums. I don't know what the £5 a month gets me.
