We have a mouse..... yikes

We think we have a mouse in the area under one of the kitchen cupboards. It's the cupboard under the sink so there are holes for the pipes to go through, these are also the cupboards where we keep the food bin and the recycling bin, so probably the best place for spilt food scraps (our kids are not great at aiming the food into the bins... 🙄).

We've discovered some plastic bags that have been munched on, but no mouse droppings yet.

Can anyone recommend a humane mouse trap? I am definitely not up for poison or a trap that will injure the mouse. Thanks 🐁

@Spaghettio

The traps have been out for over a week now.... and nothing. We can't even hear them any more. Any chance they've decided to bugger off elsewhere?
Thats exactly what happened with our solitary mouse. We emptied the porch in the end and there was nothing. Assumed he's made his way out of the open back door and back to his home under the decking. Ten years on we've never had an issue again.

If you can't hear them and there's no evidence then I'd assume they've fucked off. I'd leave the traps though to be sure.

Any friends got a terrier? Ours went absolutely nuts when the mouse was in there and the fact he was suddenly disinterested confirmed what we'd thought, he'd packed his little case and left.

The in-laws have a Jack Russell that we might see over Xmas.... I'll see if she makes any moves towards the cupboard.

I'm leaving the traps out, just in case. 🐁
