How’s Your Saturday Night?

Chilling out nicely. Work was bonkers (definitely doesn’t feel like lockdown!) so I was glad to get home, although I popped out again after lunch to get hay & straw for the bunnies. Also went to Co- Op & Asda. Too tired to cook cottage pie, which unfortunately means wasting the mince as it was defrosted yesterday. We’re having ASDA curries instead. DD11 emerged for pizza & when I tried to engage her in conversation, she told me that talking to people makes her anxious Confused We hardly see her these days. I miss my girly. It seems like she hates us. All we can do is be here for her & let her know we always have her back. DH is decorating her room so hopefully she will be enthusiastic about choosing new curtains, duvet cover etc.
DH signed up for Netflix last night & is already excited by all the choices. Think we’re going to watch The Crown from the beginning. Any recommendations welcome. I’m enjoying a nice glass of Co - Op Viognier. Putting off settling the rabbits for the night. Our garden is like a bog!

@lucysmam Among Us? See if you’re allowed to join in, it’s quite entertaining 😂

@bloodywhitecat Flowers

@EternalOptimist7 Stranger Things and Orange Is The New Black. There’s a reason there’s loads of hype!!! They’re both REALLY good.

I’m listening to DD’s Brownies sleepover-via-Zoom. DS is asleep. DH is cooking us pork, rather a late dinner.

We’ve had a bit of a frustrating day tbh; DH and I feel like it’s impossible to get any time to do our own thing at the w/e (without shafting the other one). DS(4) is a bit of a challenge to entertain. Tips welcome Confused

@FromTheAllotment that's the one!! I'm glad someone has a clue what it is 🤣🤣

@Reiningitin oh fucking yes.

I will buy a bottle!

After a massive row with ds14 this afternoon we have managed to salvage a pretty pleasant Saturday evening.

We had one of Dh's homemade curries for dinner followed by chocolate brownie and cookie dough ice cream then all snuggled up on the sofa to watch Into the Spiderverse on Netflix.
Now ds2 has gone to bed we're getting our zombie fix with the teenager - strangely The Walking Dead seems to be the one thing saving us from the sheer boredom and misery of real life at the minute. Maybe it's the knowledge that at least our pandemic doesn't turn us into undead walkers...

Absolutely shocking!! Dh and I are recovering from covid and completely fatigued. We have been in isolation since 3rd Nov with 4 children. Youngest has also had covid but has been totally unaffected. If anything he’s mega hyperactive and needs to get out in the fresh air to burn off some energy.

3 older children are bored and grumpy. They just have to look at each other to disagree. Child 1 knocked a glass of coke all over the cream lounge carpet this evening.

To add to this I lost my patience with the older 3 this evening who have done absolutely nothing to help out while we’ve been ill. Older one is 15, so no reason why they couldn’t help out.

And now I am sat with the youngest watching, “jingle jangle Christmas”, it’s absolutely dreadful!

I'm sorry @kazza446, that sounds awful and I hope you are feeling better soon. Cleaning, washing, baking bread. A long walk in the wild weather then we tried to play a new board game (Pamdemic Hmm) though the rules are a bit baffling. Thai recipe for dinner then watching old Episodes of the Grand Tour while my very new DH is dozing on my lap. A very lockdown one but nice.

kazza446 · 14/11/2020 22:39

Thank you @TheDogsMother, things can only get better I’m sure!

borntohula · 14/11/2020 22:42

I've had a great night watching (classic) Disney films with my 14 and 9yos.

borntohula · 14/11/2020 22:43

Oh and The Queen's Gambit is on Netflix and it's really good. :)

kazza446 · 14/11/2020 23:49

And to top it off child 1 has just come to tell me he’s lost his sense of smell and taste so we are booked in for covid test 4 of the week tomorrow!!
