Can you get car seats that are isofix compatible but that you can also secure just with a seatbelt? - no isofix connectors?
My current car doesn’t have isofix connectors but I plan to get a car that does eventually. I don’t want to have to buy another car seat when that time comes.
How can you tell which seats can be secured with a seat belt but are also isofix compatible?
Looking for something that will go from birth to at least 4 years.
Appreciate any help or recommendations. Thank you 😁

Yes you can. John Lewis or Halfords can advise. Most isofix seats can also go in with a seatbelt. You may also have to buy the isofix base seperately so that the seat detaches from it if it’s a newborn to 15 months seat. I would definitely suggest getting an infant seat that you can take out and leave base it then going up to a 360 degrees one that stays in permanently and does up til 4. This is because you might need to keep them confined in the car seat while waiting somewhere ( eg doctors surgery for immunisations). Also we were told that due to the angle of our back seats, despite technically being able to get a 360 degree seat for our car from birth, the angle once it was in would mean her head would flop forward and therefore be dangerous. Remember they need to back face until 15 months by law. Definitely get a fit test done for your car if you can.
