Yesterday my daughter baked a Betty Crocker cake. Oh it was fabulous and we at the lot. I had the last piece and felt extremely guilty so today I made a Victoria sandwich cake which was not a patch on the synthetic packet mix cake from heaven she made ...

But hey it was cake and no cake is bad :)

I also made shortbread with my two year old grandson which was a bit like having a chimp in the kitchen ha ha !

Yes you are right . Any cake is good (well except carrot cake), but even if it turns to crap, put it with ice cream or custard and it would make a fine pudding!

I have some flour waiting to be used. I originally bought it for my brother when there was a shortage, but he needed bread flour so I kept it. I haven't made a cake for decades! I certainly haven't tried one in the oven I use now. Could be interesting. I will make sure to have ice cream or custard at the ready!!
