Was a huge hero of mine since Whose line is it anyway?
RIP John Sessions

He was a family friend, always sent thoughtful Christmas cards, and wrote us a lovely and touching letter when one of my relatives who he was close to passed away last year. 67 is just a ridiculously young age to go, these days.

Dowser · 03/11/2020 17:41

Gosh I have no idea who he is
I thought he was a newsreader
Then realised that was Peter sissons

Oh goodness, you’ve lost a friend....I’m so sorry. 💐

RIP John sessions

Seemed a lovely man. Loved him in "whose line..." and "spitting image" among many other things.

Surprised to learn he's originally from just "over the watter" from me (sort of) also disappointing he was a ukipper.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/11/2020 18:13

I'm taken aback by how upset I am to hear this. I loved his work. Thanks for everything, John. You will be missed and 67 is no age at all.

AcornAutumn · 03/11/2020 18:37

“You’ve clearly not worked with John before” 😂 classic

Shrillharridan · 03/11/2020 18:42

This has made me very sad.

Such happy memories of watching him on WLIIA on Ch 4 back in the 80s. He and Josie were my favourites.
What a talent!

@DioneTheDiabolist
Porterhouse Blue is currently available on All4. Just started watching it by chance yesterday

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 03/11/2020 18:45

Porterhouse Blue is wonderful. It has stood up to the intervening decades far better than the other tv Tom Sharpe adaptations.

Shrillharridan · 03/11/2020 18:47

Sorry for your loss knit

JamieLeeCurtains · 03/11/2020 19:30

Thank you for that clip of him with JP.

@JamieLeeCurtains

I loved Whose Line is it Anyway? Very gifted.
Absolutely! Watched as a teenager when I got home from pub on a Friday night (followed by The word!) Grin
CurlsandCurves · 03/11/2020 20:35

So sad, he was fantastic, loved him on Whose Line.

Brilliant storyteller as well.

carbon60 · 03/11/2020 20:40

So sad, I absolutely loved Stella Street
RIP John

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/11/2020 20:51

He was, as we say in this house, Big Banana Sizzle (Big When I Was Little - long story). As was Bobby Ball, two totally different people, in almost every way, but both, amongst other hugely diverse comedy geniuses, fostered a love of comedy in me when I was growing up. I think I’ll watch a Stella Street and ping my braces while I’m at it tonight. 😢

KnitFastDieWarm · 03/11/2020 21:07

thank you all. He was a good one. we may have disagreed on some things (brexit for one Grin) but he was a good man and he will be missed.
