Long Hair (lighthearted)

Just wondered if this is a thing?

DM comments on my hair everytime I see her.
For most of my childhood I had short hair, probably cos it was hard to manage and was and is still very thick.

I think that a short inverted bob is my best look and I always revert back to it.

Everytime I've grown it longer, I get comments such as

"I think your hair looks better shorter"

I prefer it when it's its natural colour"

"It's not appropriate to have long hair at your age"

“Long hair doesn't look professional“. Err what?

I play bingo in my head to see how many of these she mentions in a visit Grin

When I last had it cut back to an inverted bob she said "Aah that's so much better" ConfusedGrin

Anyone else encountered such an aversion to long hair?

I am plus sized with a round face and every time I fancy a short haircut the hairdresser suggests a graduated bob. Hmm I last had it cut short 14 months ago (to get rid of the remaining dye in my hair) and it's now grown out again to just above the shoulders. It's brown and grey and wavy. My mum says I should keep it this length. I want to grow it out long. It doesn't have a style, currently. I'm just letting it grow. There are so many women in the public eye with longer, greying hair and I'm embracing mine. My mum is in her late 60s, has a bob and dyes it still. She can have her opinion on my hair (ie highlights etc) but it's my head!

I must live in a parallel universe. I and most people I know think long hair is an asset. I honestly don't know anyone who has said long hair looks bad and if you asked me to name a beautiful celebrity/actress they would pretty much all have long hair!

I had waist length hair to my late teens and then started experimenting with bleach. 10 years later and I've cut it short with the intent of growing it long and healthy as possible :)

Work your hair OP. If you want to keep it a longer length then do so!
