Cannot tolerate alcohol anymore

Has this happened to anyone else?I’m not a huge drinker but definitely enjoy a glass of wine or two with food or on a Friday. We have just moved into dream house and I had only two small glasses of Prosecco, lots of food and water before bed, wasn’t remotely drunk , completely sober going to bed as it was at around 6pm. Next day I felt groggy and awful , low energy . Two small glasses would have been absolutely fine a few years ago ..
This has happened everytime I’ve had anymore than 1 drink in the last few months. I’m 35 so is this a part of peri-menopause? It’s obviously not a big problem, just a pity as really enjoy the odd glass of wine but it clearly isn’t worth it, it’s the same though with beer etc...

So glad it’s not just me! 37 now and noticed lately that I feel utterly terrible after white wine, which has always been my drink of choice.
I even said to my husband the other day I don’t think I can drink it any more - went out with some friends on Friday night and had 3 bottles of wine between 4 of us and had the worst nights sleep and felt terrible all day Saturday.
@Crunched - do they really work?! I think I might get some...got to be worth a try!

I'm late 30s and have stopped drinking completely because of what pps describe. I shared a bottle of pinot with my husband during our anniversary meal last year and felt so unwell yet unable to sleep that I decided to stop.

Be glad! Your liver will be healthy. I've never tolerated alcohol very well and now I can't stomach it.

Even if it does get better after menopausal I'm not going back. After successfully navigating high days and holidays without it I am finding life much more enjoyable without it. I've more money and I look better too. At 48 I need all the youthful glow thats available Grin

@bettybyebye I was not prepared to stop drinking like some on this thread until I had explored every possibility.
I was in Amsterdam and noticed they seem to be widely used when I was out with female friends there. We are all over 35. I drink mainly New World and Italian wines and they seem particularly geared for those.
I can certainly now manage a Prosecco and 3 glasses of wine by adding 1 drop to each in an evening with no effects the following morning, and have even snuck in a cocktail or a liqueur. Having become so ill previously I was very cautious and have not dared to push it more than that.
Three bottles were around £25 but each one will 'neutralise' about 40 glasses I estimate.
