I do always try to be kind, I don't need telling and people who are not kind aren't going to change just because some random person on Facebook tells them to. I've seen so many mean comments on Facebook and the writer has "be kind" on their profile picture

"I hear what you say..." - You know full well that what they really mean is that they aren't interested in your opinion and will ignore it.

"Little man" - just ugh.

"To be fair", used in totally the wrong context. "I went to the shop, to be fair".
That's a fact, there's nothing to be fair about.

When someone describes another as the type of person who "calls a spade a spade" = they're rude, thoughtless and blunt, and use that expression to excuse their behaviour.
Yes, sometimes the truth is best, but at times understand having an ounce of emotional intelligence and a softer approach is required.
