I need to replace my bedding and keen to get some super comfy duvet covers. I've looked on Amazon and am not wowed by anything so far... any suggestions?

La redoute

frumpety · 18/10/2020 19:29

I am saving up for some washed linen bedding , it looks so lovely , I keep having a look on the Secret linen store at their nice range.

@CruCru

How much do you want to spend? I like John Lewis but my husband says it is expensive.
I'm not that fussed on price, quite fancy treating myself!

I bought soak and sleep Egyptian cotton 400 TC on recommendation from Mumsnetters and don't regret for a second! Especially with their (ethical) goose down duvet.

ifiwasascent · 18/10/2020 19:36

Dunelm! We looked everywhere, the white company, John Lewis etc but dunelm was the best

SpeedofaSloth · 18/10/2020 19:37

YY to Dorma. £££££ but oh so lovely. (Hopefully it will last, I bought a set earlier this year.)

Bananajam · 18/10/2020 19:44

We're staying in an Airbnb and the bedding is from the Fox and Ivy range in tesco and its gorgeous! I would never have thought it was from a supermarket and I'd definitely buy it for myself,. I assume it wears well as being a rental property i would guess it gets washed far more than standard bedding.

Nikhedonia · 18/10/2020 19:59

I really like this from John Lewis. I'll check out the Dorma range too

What is the difference in feeling between a 200 or 400 TC and say 1000 TC, I get that there's more cotton threads, but how does that make it feel different?

That’s the whole point of John Lewis. Men just don’t get it do they.
justmeagain91 · 18/10/2020 20:13

@Nikhedonia I've read that anything higher than 400 is a waste of money with little to no increase in quality over 400, I heard it's more of a marketing tactic. So I went with 400 and was very happy with them, they feel much better quality than what I've had before but I haven't bought higher than 400 to compare to be fair!

Darnley · 18/10/2020 20:14

Linen bundle....bloody gorgeous.

whatisthislifesofullofcare · 18/10/2020 20:16

Vote for Bedeck here too.

LiveFromHome · 18/10/2020 20:17

My favourite bedding at the moment is a 300 TC Egyptian cotton set from Costco.

dontmesswiththeGC · 18/10/2020 20:29

Sara Miller London?

userxx · 18/10/2020 20:45

Ive got some nice 100% cotton bedding from Asda, will look on dunelm now though.

bilbodog · 18/10/2020 20:54

John lewis are doing a reasonably priced 100% pure linen set - ive only been buying pure linen recently and its gorgeous!

muckandnettles · 18/10/2020 20:55

Soak and Sleep - go for their highest thread count cotton. I've had some for several years now and it's still really soft and lovely.

Fishfingersandwichplease · 18/10/2020 21:27

Sainsbury's bedding has never let me down - washes up really well and lasts has, more so than some of the more expensive brands in my experience

Magicbabywaves · 18/10/2020 21:32

I really rate Joules bedding.

EmbarrassedUser · 18/10/2020 22:05

Dunelm have lovely stuff. I finally have the gorgeous girly bedroom of my dreams and a beautiful bedspread has helped with that 💕💕

allmycats · 18/10/2020 22:16

Look in TK Max for high thread count linen at good prices. Still more than supermarkets etc BUT much higher quality at a fair price

JudyGemstone · 18/10/2020 22:18

Brushed cotton is super soft, expect you can get it most places.

I've got loads of brushed cotton, I really love sleeping in it but fancy a bit of a change

Agree with @darnlee Linen Bundle bedding is divine! It's not cheap, but oh my word, it's so lovely to sleep in.
White Company used to be my go to brand, but this is far superior....and it has a lifetime guarantee! I had an issue with some pillowcases and emailed them with pics. I subsequently got an email from DPD to say a delivery was on its way (it was some replacement Pillowcases) , before they had even replied to my email! That's what I call good customer service.
