If you have a super king size bed...

What pillow set-up do you have? Do you have your pillows meet in the centre of the bed and have a big space on the outer edges? Or are they in the middle of your half so you have a gap either side of your pillows? We are upgrading to a SK soon and I can't envisage how the pillows will work Confused

Bolster?

ToryAldi · 18/10/2020 07:47

Normal pillows with a gap. Invested in emperor sized duvet and sheets - that’s a joy I recommend!

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 18/10/2020 08:17

I have super king pillows at the back then normal pillows at the front.

I have made pillowcases for the super king ones, some are white, some are a complementary colour and one set is made from the matching fitted sheet that shrank in the wash and kept pinging off the corners.

I’m getting a super king size bed next time.

FippertyGibbett · 18/10/2020 08:46

We have them meeting in the middle.

VanCleefArpels · 18/10/2020 08:51

Gaps.

I also thoroughly recommend 2 single duvets instead of one big one. It’s no exaggeration when I say it’s a marriage saver 😉

CurseryKinkajoo · 18/10/2020 08:54

Gaps and like @VanCleefArpels, 2 separate duvets (although I would go 2 doubles rather than 2 singles but I sleep a bit like a burrito...)

SimonJT · 18/10/2020 08:54

We have three normal size pillows, the outer two are standard feather ones and the middle one is a memory foam pillow that we actually use to sleep on. We just use the feather ones if we’re sat up in bed etc.

We did have one long pillow, but we got rid of it as we both prefer memory foam.

violetbunny · 18/10/2020 08:55

2 pillows + 1 euro (big square) pillow each side, gap in the middle. DCat sleeps in the gap Grin

We’ve had a super king for 7 years and I’ve only just discovered that you can buy appropriately sized pillows! It’s annoying that beddding sets cone with regular sized pillowcases sport that’s no hood but we are in the process of decorating the bedroom a bold colour so I’m moving to plain white bedding so matching pillowcases aren’t an issue.

BasinHaircut · 18/10/2020 08:56

Goodness me predictive text is so annoying!

Ragwort · 18/10/2020 08:57

Gap in the middle ... but I don't share my 6 ft bed - DH has his own (5ft) bed .... bliss. Lying in bed on my own now Grin.

InTheLongGrass · 18/10/2020 09:01

No idea what size our bed was in our previous house (fully furnished rental abroad), but it was wider than it was long. Is that a super king?
3 pillows across. Double duvet for DH, king duvet for us to share - we were using what we had available. It was fab.

Mandalalorianna · 18/10/2020 09:03

I have one pillow. My bed! ALLLLLLL mine!! Don't care what it looks like.

BeepBoopBop · 18/10/2020 09:05

@MrsEricBana

(I'm not a fan of the whole cushion on bed thing but needs must and I can't expect poodie to sit there all day)
My Jack Russell would have 🤣 but a poodle would look nicer.
SouterSally · 18/10/2020 09:06

I have 3 sizes of pillows, 2 large continental ones (65x65 square) 2 king size pillows (long) and 2 normal size so can chop and change gap or no gap, oh the luxury!.

The poster who asked about matching pillowcases, usually the duvet comes as a set with housewife pillow cases, many can be bought without.

I hate matching bedding so will have different textures/pattern but colours of the same palette, great for getting items in the sale, but I do spend a lot on bedding as I think its worth it.

Enjoy your new bed!

KetoPenguin · 18/10/2020 09:07

Pillow on each side with a dog in the gap.

linelgreen · 18/10/2020 09:12

The whole reason we got a SK bed was to make more room for the dog!!

VanCleefArpels · 18/10/2020 09:26

All of you sharers with dugs - do none of them fart??? Seriously, if we shared a room with our most beloved dog we’d be poisoned by morning

Kaiserin · 18/10/2020 09:30

Mountain of pillows. Haven't counted them. Same with duvets. It's a fairy tale bed/den (fairy tale, as in "Princess and the Pea")

PrimeraVez · 18/10/2020 09:57

We have an Emperor size and we have pillows at the edge with a big gap in the middle, normally filled by DS1 and a cat.

If anyone can recommend where to find nice Emperor size bedding, then I would be very grateful!

SouterSally · 18/10/2020 10:01

PrimeraVez have a look at Linen Cupboard Yorkshire

CovidNightmare · 18/10/2020 10:03

2 normal pillows. I go for practical, especially in rooms other people rarely seem, dont go in for all this dressing a bed.

mysticpistachio · 18/10/2020 10:05

White company and soak and sleep both sell super king pillows and pillowcases.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 18/10/2020 10:08

I have 10 pillows on my super king size bed.

At one point i had a folded up single duvet along there, it was comfy as hell (and easy to buy matching bedding for, just get the same set in single and superking, i was single then though, couldn't do that now).
