Made one tonight and although it was nice it wasn't perfect. It consisted of:
Browned mince beef.
Chopped onion,carrots,swede.
Peas.

These were cooked in gravy in the slow cooker for a few hours then put in oven dishes with fresh mash on top until golden brown on top.

I need your top tips pls.T.i.a.

I brown the mince add chopped onion and frozen veg and add a shepherds pie mix or sometimes gravy when it,s cooked through I put it in an oven tray and top with mash ,mixed with crushed up ready salted crisps ,to add a bit of crunch and then put it under the grill for a few minutes .

I make it with just onions, mince and mushrooms, with a Knorr stock cube and a glass of red wine. I do the veg on the side. I put a lot of cheese in the potato while I'm mashing it and on the top.

I also leave the mince and mash to cool before I make the pie. It seems to keep the two apart better when serving.

With mine I brown off some mince, add a chopped onion and some garlic cook the onion out with the mince till the onion softens, add a good couple of table spoons of Worcester sauce, stir through some tomato purée then add a beef stick cube with a little salt then a good amount of pepper. Cover with water then simmer for about an hour, tip with mash potato then sprinkle with cheese and give a good 40 minutes in the oven. We have with baked beans and tiger bread and butter x
