Walk, I love walking through woodland but my favourite is along the beach. There is something so soothing walking along the beach as the waves crash on the shore.

That photo is beautiful OP!

I love walking through my local park, the autumn colours at the moment are just amazing. There is a tree that is the brightest red, almost dayglo pink, it stops me in my tracks every time I see it. I've really only discovered the very calming power of walking through woods during lockdown, but it is an incredible thing.

Basically fresh air and exercise - walking, running, cycling ... bit of sunshine on autumn leaves is a bonus.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/10/2020 16:39

Walk my dog! Lovely and calming. Then doggie cuddles when we get home. Works every time

RatherBeRiding · 15/10/2020 16:42

Poo pick my horses' fields! It's a lovely environment with mature trees and hedges, lots of rabbits and pheasants and bird song.

Something about being in the fresh air and doing mindless but essential tasks and moving around and seeing to the ponies just makes me so much calmer!

Oh lovely photo! I love walking in the woods and beside the beach! Absolutely desperate to do that right now but overloaded with work!!

Peachypips78 · 15/10/2020 21:25

Same for me- I actually prefer country and woodland walks to the beach. We have a large heath/moor near us and it is stunning.

When I work from home I walk for an hour there at lunchtime and it really boosts my mood and productivity in the afternoon.

I also love hand sewing.

I love walking through london. Just discovering different areas. My fav is walking through holland park to mayfair. So many interesting sights.

Peachypips78 · 15/10/2020 21:41

@nitgel I used to do this- I would walk huge distances instead of taking the tube ad you can see so many wonderful and surprising things.

AuntyMabelandPippin · 15/10/2020 21:48

Walking on the beach listening to the waves crashing on the shore. It soothes my soul.

One day I'll live next to a beach and I'll be in my happy place forever.

nitgel · 15/10/2020 21:51

It's great peachy I try to go each weekend

Kaiserin · 15/10/2020 22:55

Nature is the best anti-stress! (scientifically proven fact, actually)
If I'm not on a walk, I'm in the garden Smile

To be fair, exercise and "creative" hobbies (e.g. cooking) can also be great mood enhancers.
And sometimes even simple repetitive chores, like folding laundry or sweeping the floor (but don't tell my husband that, or he'd stop doing his share Wink)

Oh, and music and a warm bath and a nice cuppa...

Doubletrouble99 · 16/10/2020 20:50

Sitting on a quiet beach listening to the waves. Can't beat it.

Redwolf1 · 16/10/2020 20:55

Being outside is the best way to distress. I love a walk, somewhere quiet. Running distressed me to, and gardening. I also find mowing the lawn very therapeutic

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 16/10/2020 21:22

Running down my local beautiful country lanes and wild swimming. Ideally being by the sea but we live hours away.

Spending time with my horse
