No water. In the whole of East London. It's really quite frightening.

My friends are all in East Ham/Plaistow and have no water at all, my friend in East Ham has said she can't get bottled water anywhere it's crazy. If it goes on for much longer I'm sure they have to distribute water..

PlonkItDownNOW · 06/10/2020 20:49

You can’t use bottled water for that anyway, they could buy premixed bottles.

No she can't, it's the hypoallergenic formula. You can't buy premixed and she can only get it on prescription.

This must involve thousands of people

Thames Water remaining tight lipped about the cause of the problem. Struggling to think what it could be to cause disruption like this.

When something like this happened to North London a year or so ago, I recall it was because the underground reservoir serving the affected areas had gone “offline”.

Eastie77 · 06/10/2020 21:23

I'm in East London. It's quite a large area. If the shortage is affecting postcodes E6-20 there are still dozens of places outside of those areas you can get to fairly easily to obtain water. As in, a short bus or Uber ride away. I don't mean to sound unsympathetic but 'apocalyptic' is a bit dramatic.

PlonkItDownNOW · 06/10/2020 21:25

I said it FEELS apocalyptic, not it IS apocalyptic. I know it is not literally the apocalypse because, funnily enough, I am not a moron.

We're E17 and feeling rather lucky to still have water! Hope it gets sorted soon, good luck getting updates from Thames Water...when we did have none last year they told us there was 'no timescale' for repairs Hmm

jay55 · 06/10/2020 22:15

I am, my postcode isn't on the list but some on our estate don't have any according to local fb group.

JustDavesWife · 06/10/2020 22:45

Apparently some RG postcodes affected as well..

Puppylucky · 06/10/2020 22:50

This is weird. I'm E11 and have no problem at all. I didn't even know about this until ai clicked on the thread. It must be very focused

AdoraBell · 06/10/2020 23:08

For those who still have water I suggest you fill a few jugs/kettle/bowls and if you have clean spray bottle fill that too. That can be used for a quick wash, with a flannel, instead of a shower.

For everyone else, I really hope the water comes back soon.

Eastie77 · 06/10/2020 23:23

I didn't write that you said it 'IS' acopolypticConfused I simply reused a word you referenced. Calm down.

PlonkItDownNOW · 06/10/2020 23:28

Burst pipe in Hackney Marshes apparently. Disruption expected for 24 hours.
