5 year old wants "toy water" for xmas please..!?

My 5 year old is asking for toy water for Xmas, can anyone help me find something that might work please cos I'm stumped!

I don't think it's a real toy he's seen, I think he's invented it in his head. Gestures and garbled descriptions seem to involve something about 8 inches in size, maybe like a river made of resin like in model railway scenery?

I have no idea what he wants to DO with it, it might be nice if it moved or lit up or turned a water wheel or something actually interesting.

I'd like to get him a lava lamp but they don't look anything like the kind of stream he's describing.

Arg! Confused

Oh my DN has this cool water tray thing and it has canals and locks and stuff. Will try and remember what it's called...

As it's only October, I'd not mention it again and then late Nov ask what he'd like for Christmas. Fingers crossed toy water will be forgotten!

AquaPlay! They do different ones I think.

Would magic sand do the job? Maybe not quite. Was just thinking it feels wet-ish and can shape it into scenes.

You can buy a play sink where the taps pour real water? Would that do?

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 01/10/2020 21:10

Indoor fountain?

Riddikulusness · 01/10/2020 21:33

Come over to the Christmas bargains thread and ask there. We’re a friendly and helpful bunch. Not sure how to post a link but search for ‘thread 9 Big Willy Scarf’.

Riddikulusness · 01/10/2020 21:37

Apologies, it’s ‘thick willy scarf’

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 01/10/2020 21:50

Yeah aqua play looks so cool!

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 01/10/2020 22:37

Thanks so much some great suggestions here, and now I kind of want an indoor fountain for myself Grin

I guarantee I'd end up trying to figure out "toy water" with only a few weeks left and the shops running out of things, this child will not forget Grin
