'I miss you,' says my Dad, over the phone.
To my Grandma sitting on the sofa,
'I miss you,' my Mum says in a loving tone
To her sister who was supposed to come over,
Borders closed; families split.
Screen time, through the roof.
Constant contact, pressure to commit.
So tensions rise, my family is proof
Yet:
Divorce papers withdrawn, a friendship repair
A life off the rails reset;
A blessing, hidden within the despair,
And now I am with them no longer
Distance really does make the heart grow fonder
