My face is horrible-looking

Just that, really! I really don't approve of the way it is looking, and I used to like my face. I lost weight at the start of the year and since then I have hollow cheeks and I look all pinched and unhealthy. You'd think it might have rebalance itself by now 🤔

I've tried supposedly plumping and rejuvenating facial masks, moisturisers etc. No difference, as far as I can see.

And I know it isn't just me, because people say to me, "Oh dear, your face looks very drawn!"

I'm 33 - I do use vitamin C products (Body Shop) and exfoliator, but not Collagen. Maybe this is worth a try?

@ShagMeRiggins

Oh God. Facialist, not racialist. Definitely do not visit a racialist.

Oh God - I think I'm dying of laughter!

"New ways to improve your face."

Seriously the funniest thing I've read all year. Star

The people that know and love you, know and love YOU regardless of how you look. Don't beat yourself up by comparing you with who you used to be. A confident smile is the best face lift in the world. Go smile at yourself in the mirror, pull faces until you laugh and remember how that looks

Zaphodsotherhead · 26/09/2020 14:13

You're lucky.

I lost a lot of weight and my cheeks are sunken but I STILL have a double chin and a round face. I look like a cannon ball that's been in a vacuum.

I am sure you look lovely.

Craddle64 · 26/09/2020 14:21

I think sunken cheeks are model like and give you chiseled cheek bones.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 26/09/2020 14:21

But yes, as suggested above, good fats in your diet should help. Oily fish, avocados, full fat milk, and masses of fresh vegetables - all the time not just once or twice.

Massage regularly with any oil you like. Really wakes up muscles and skin.

And (difficult right now, I know) smile as much as you can. Give your new face a chance to form new habits.

Imissmoominmama · 26/09/2020 14:24

Lots of water too!

Etinox · 26/09/2020 14:27

@Humbersider

You know some very rude people.

They're just jealous of your striking, angular features, the pudding-faced bastards.

Pudding faced bastards Grin There’s a diet called the skin diet, high healthy fats, let me see if I can find it.
Etinox · 26/09/2020 14:30

It’s called the Perricone diet, one journalists experience, with links here

Lara53 · 26/09/2020 14:32

Collagen powder in your smoothie or whisked into tea or coffee works really well

Puppy72 · 26/09/2020 14:32

@Humbersider sorry but pudding faced bastards made me howl :)

LunaNorth · 26/09/2020 14:33

What an unexpectedly joyous thread Grin

starray · 26/09/2020 14:34

Hilarious! Made me laugh and I needed it!
Puppy72 · 26/09/2020 14:35

And OP, well done on your weight loss xx people really are so rude x please don't lose confidence in how you think your face looks I'm sure it's beautiful xx

P. S still laughing at pudding faced bastards, literally the funniest thing I've heard all week 🤣

Janaih · 26/09/2020 14:43

Healthy fats definitely! Fillers and a teeny bit of botox if you can stretch to it and are that way inclined. Have a consultation and they will give you an honest opinion.
Well done on the weight loss. Agree jealousy may be behind such comments!

ChronicallyCurious · 26/09/2020 15:07

Sounds like something my Mother would say to me 😂😂

If it really bothers you, then you could look into a consultation for filler/Botox depending on what you need. But only if it’s for you. Don’t alter your face because of other people’s comments.

I’m sure you look lovely though and people are just jealous of your weight loss!

Gettingthereslowly2020 · 26/09/2020 15:26
@gettingthereslowly2020. That’s all well and good but people need “surgery and improvement money”. Op may not have a magic money tree blooming in her back garden.

I’m astonished that people are being so rude to you, op. Angry. I will say this though and I hope it doesn’t upset but Not everyone suits being slim. Some people do look better with a bit of timber on them.
Yes, that's true. It may take quite a while to save up.

I've read my post back and it sounds quite negative which isn't how I intended it at all - the opposite in fact. I probably could have worded it better.

Jourdain11 · 26/09/2020 15:28

I am definitely going to look into some of these ideas! Although maybe not the racialist Wink And I will definitely be thinking "pudding faced bastards" any time anyone comments to me, no matter how gorgeous-faced they may be!

I do wonder if it might just be that my body is below it's natural weight, though? If there is such a thing!

Creams and potions won’t make any difference to the collagen you have lost from your face, if you aren’t anti aesthetics get 1ml of voluma filler injected into each cheek, it lasts for up to 2 years and makes a world of difference after weight loss.
