(taat) Taster menus in the South East/East Anglia

Inspired by the thread regarding taster menu options in Edinburgh, I have decided that this is a great idea for my partner's 40th next year in September. This time should allow for us to get a booking at a popular place.

Please can I have your stories about taster menu experiences in the South East and East Anglia? I have looked at Midsummer House in Cambs for example.

Restaurant 22 in Cambridge?

Morston Hall - and stay over if you have the budget. Their cream tea is pretty good too but don't combine the two (tea and tasting) unless you have a gigantic appetite!

Midsummer House in Cambridge

(though I must admit that when I went a few years back, they did a cheaper mid-week lunchtime version of the tasting menu. I don’t think I could bear to spend £230 per head plus wine, though the food was incredible, and I’d absolutely recommend it if cost is not an issue).

Thank you all so far. I am really excited to actually have a plan for his birthday. I'll be honest, I am totally rubbish when it comes to presents as I worry about not hitting the mark. I think this will go down well though. He is tee total so we won't need the wine flight. I could have a go but I drink so little these days that I'd be needing a little lay down after the second course. Grin
