What do you do in the evenings?

I'm currently pregnant with my first (so no current routine around kids). I usually have a a long commute to work and back (1.5 hours one way) and it's typical to do overtime as well, leaving me quite time poor. I've always dreamt of having a shorter commute and get some time back for my work/life balance.

The pandemic and working from home has allowed this, I finally find myself with this amazing free time in the mornings and evenings - and now I have no idea what to do with it!
Of course a lot of the things I had in mind when day dreaming of the extra time is not open/is restricted/is not practical with the pandemic.

So I ask you, what do you do with your free time? Before the pandemic and now?

Its all about the kids (feed/bath/play/homework) until 8:30 when the eldest is in bed and we have 1.5 hours where we chat (can't get a word in usually over the kids) watch some TV or read.

Pre kids I enjoyed evenings much more, now Im just too tired and can't make it past 10pm.

What evening!?!

Ft work and single parent. Kids bedtime starts around 7. Then have small gap of 1/2 tv with older one before they go to bed. It's 2130 before I can come downstairs and relax.

Too late to do any much needed catch up on work. And I'm too knocked to do anything else.

Hard going and I thought it got easier as kids got older ! Oh no! Baby years with kids in bed at 7.30 feel like a dream these days 😂

Have dinner, watch some TV, chat to the kids when they grace us with their presence, most evenings do emails and orders for our business, stick some washing on and load the dishwasher before bed. Tend to go to bed at midnight so can get quite a lot of work/chores and relaxing done in an evening!

Generally I spend my time making dinner, tidying up running DS to clubs, then going to my gym classes, i usually keep one night free when DP & DS are out to watch crap on Netflix, catch up with ironing etc.
