hi,

my 9 month old has been refusing fluids since last night, has a temperature over 38 degrees and is very pale :(

I have tried to give her calpol but she wont take it. cant get through to 111. does this warrant an a and e trip? I'm really quite concerned about her

I would go. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Cherrybalm · 15/09/2020 04:58

it's the fluid refusal and paleness that has concerned me. going to go now

Definitely go now. Don’t question it.

I hope she’s ok

How is she @Cherrybalm? Did she get any fluids.?

Cherrybalm · 15/09/2020 07:52

she had a very high temp of over 38 which was concerning, it took a few attempts to get her to take any medicine. she eventually accepted a little bit of water, apparently her throat is very red and swollen. waiting for her temperature and pulse to go down now. not very pleasant

Oh bless her. You did the right thing op, always err on the side of caution with littlies.

Fingers crossed she perks up ASAP.

jess3817 · 15/09/2020 08:04

Poor thing. I always say follow your gut instinct. Definitely did the right thing taking her in.
