What things do you ask your Alexa to do?

dont think Im using mine to its fullest....what kind of things do you ask yours?

Switch the lamps on and off
Listen to the free monthly audible books
Lots of radio and music
Random general knowledge questions from the kids
Games with kids
Find out the weather forecast
Alarms, timers and reminders

Shopping list (kids can add things when they’ve used it up)
Jokes

Spotify
Turn on lights downstairs
'Drop in' to upstairs so I don't have to holler when dinner's ready
Weather forecast
Tube status
Sports and news updates
Maths! If need to quickly work out a percentage or multiply something
Animal game if I'm bored

I ask Alexa for a joke or limerick.
And ask her to play music from a specific year. Usually 1982 or 1984. There the best.

Sometimes I'll say ''Alexa, hello''

And she'll reply with either 'Eh uuuup'' or ''Alright''?

You need Alexa enabled bulbs, or in the case of table lamps, you could use plugs.

I forgot. I also use it to announce to DS that I'm on my way home and to do the washing up before I get there or else!

Ask the weather -then again 5 mins later as I've already forgotten

Loads of reminders - so useful
Timers- cooking or for when the kids are playing on games (dont set game timer it is ridiculously loud)

Best thing was a routine where when I said good morning she replied good morning told me what was on my calendar for the day, read the news/weather and then told a joke. I could listen while making a cup of tea in the morning

The dc make full use of her range of farting noises.

I like to ask her what noise a hamster makes.

Nothing because I dont have one. But I always try and set an alarm for 5am if I visit somebody who does.

Do you use the app to make a routine?

Nothing because my husband keeps bloody unplugging it, which rather defeats the purpose!

Just go on the app, click the menu three lines and choose routines.
