Have you seen it?

What did you think of it?

I’ve just finished the last episode of season 3 and am feeling very Shock

@Smallsteps88 @ThePawtriarchy I think his wife may have intentionally been marginalised by writers to reflect how relevance she actually was to him. She just pales into insignificance. Similarly their son just never features

I didn't like it at all.

17 hours to tell a 2 hour story.
Dumb and often ridiculous choices made by characters.
No mystery and no thought needed.
Fairly predictable, I guessed the rest of season 3 after quitting at episode 2. (I made a thread about it)
Just dull, droning and dragged in and on and on and on and on and on and on....

I watched:
In The Dark
Really good. 4 episodes. First 2 was one story, second 2 was anothr story.

The Stranger
Really really good. Loads of mystery and intrigue.

Manhunt
Fact based, really good.

Mindhunter
Fact based, really good.

There's so many better things to watch than The Fall, I'm shocked it scored as highly as it has. It really is brain off, TV noise.

@Smallsteps88 @ThePawtriarchy *little relevance

Oh that’s a good point. She really was on the periphery. The son pretty much non existent after series 1. He was infatuated with his daughter.

ICU was bizarre. Would they really have had sex attacking kidnapper in the same ward as his victim?

RickOShay · 03/09/2020 08:02

I completely agree that it was drawn out, but overall I thought it was thought provoking. Cliched yes, but some good moments.

TBF in the context of the show it made as much sense as not telling the guard of the sole survivor the identity of the suspected attacker. She wouldn't need to know the list of persons of interest in case they show up at the hospital, nope, course not... In reality she'd be the first to be told in case the attacker came to silence the survivor.

I watched it straight after Line of Duty, and I thought it was awful. It dragged on and on and on at a snail’s pace, and I hated Gillian Anderson in it with her annoying whispery voice and overblown facial expressions. Just about threw the TV out the window when it eventually ended, because the ending sure didn’t make up for watching 13 hours of it.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 03/09/2020 09:32

I watched the Fall the first time round and have just finished bingeing ll the series again on Prime (or is it Netflix?). I think its a fantastic TV series.

MsMiaWallace · 03/09/2020 11:57

I was so drawn to Gillian Anderson's character in it she was fantastic.

IheartHarryStyles · 03/09/2020 12:01

We’re nearly finished series 3. Gillian Anderson’s sex chat line voice and insistence on making eyes at and shagging everything with a pulse is getting a little old though.

goldpendant · 06/09/2020 22:07

Yes agreed, GA did get a bit too pouty, whispery at the end. I thought she was going to end up shagging the doctor, Spector, Danni (the lesbian female officer).

pinkfruits · 06/09/2020 22:17

I absolutely loved it. Best thing I've watched in ages and I'm sad I've finished it! I've been looking for similar things to watch but I've either seen them or they look shit

KatherineJaneway · 06/09/2020 23:34

I did think the potential love scene between Gillian Anderson and Archie Panjabi was a bit of a nod to The Good Wife

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 07/09/2020 00:17

Its excellent

One of the best tv series in years. Very gripping and very dark

I know it’s recently been added to Netflix shall watch it again

CaroleFuckingBaskin · 08/09/2020 21:50

Loved it but her voice began to grate. More whispery and 'come to my boudoir' as the series went on. That put me off tbh

BananaHammock23 · 25/09/2020 21:40

Had to bring this thread back to life! I'm watching S3 now and finding it a bit slow and gory. I wanted to ask if anyone else finds it really weird that Spector's son is never in it? What's the point of him having two kids? I kept thinking it would be part of the storyline because it's so bizarre. The daughter is so involved but the son is never mentioned! The sort of little thing that does my head in!

KatherineJaneway · 25/09/2020 22:02

He doesn't matter to him at all.

BananaHammock23 · 25/09/2020 22:06

Hmm yes I suppose that's the point of it, I just felt it was a small thing that irritated me through.

I absolutely love Gillian Anderson in it, she's fantastic.
