Just for fun: if you could go anywhere in the world right now to a place you've never been, where would you go and why? (This is purely fantasy so no Covid or other restrictions such as money, work, etc.)

I would go to Bora Bora. French Polynesia has always fascinated me; crystal clear sea, white sands, a little hut perched over the water... I would swim, windsurf, snorkel, read, paint or just dream. There would be no crowds of tourists or anyone else, no internet or phones, no traffic - just loveliness as far as the eye could see.

I'd love to go to Namibia. We were due to go there at Easter this year but obviously it was cancelled. Hopefully we can travel there in the not to distant future.

I’d come with you to Pitcairn, @Stompythedinosaur, though I suspect it would be a deeply sinister experience and we’d end up trying to get a ship to divert for an early pick-up. Have you read Diana Souhami’s book? And Dea Birkett’s?

I’d like to walk the Kumamoto Kodo pilgrimage route in Japan. Or a tour of Italian art where private collections were miraculously opened to me, and I could restore myself in between at some beautiful old agriturismo.

I would go to India and do the Golden triangle and then have a riding holiday extension to ride a Marwari horse.

It was supposed to be Japan this year, finally! As plans to get there have been buggered up every year for the last 5 years.

Want to go to bamboo forests, misty hillside temples, wake up in the morning to the sounds of rain on temple lodging roofs, eat the amazing food, feed deer in Nara.

And Vienna, for the weekend....similarly plans buggered up for visiting for last 5 years.

@MrsTerryPratchett and Bhutan is very high on the bucket list.

I would like to go on safari in Tanzania. Yellowstone and Tromso are also on the list.
