Doug Ross in a storm drain might just be the best hour of tv ever

I’m rewatching ER on All4 and currently watching the episode where Doug rescues the kid from the flooding storm drain.

That shot of him emerging from the water holding the kid (which they should have made in slow-mo) might just be the reason why I love George Clooney so much and have done since I was about 10 years old (my mum let me watch ER as a kid, having kids myself now I can’t quite believe it).

I seriously forgot just how good this series is and while it went downhill post Mark it’s still up there IMHO as one of the best shows ever.

Just before lockdown I was in a charity shop and a woman bought in the entire 12 series DVD box set In - said she had won it but never fancied it. The sales assistant said to me - do you want it for £3...... made lockdown so much easier😀

That might just be the best charity shop find ever @MellieNelba

I can’t believe I had 4 months at home and only found it 2 weeks after going back to work!

A nasty form of torture of the cast of Mrs Browns Boys and the commissioning editor would be the most satisfying hour of tv I could think of. Storm drains are too wide for this though.

God, I loved ER! So, so good and Mark Greene's death is still one of the most heart-rending things I've ever seen on a TV screen.
