Has anyone ever used velcro to shorten school blazer sleeves?

My sewing skills are not great and I think I'm likely to do less damage to the blazer if I use velcro. Has anyone ever tried this? Does it work? Thanks.

The easiest way to do this is to turn the sleeve inside out and put a tuck in the lining.
This pulls the sleeve up inside (if that makes sense).

Would think velcro would be too bulky.

Thanks newtb. Would wunderweb work?

Wonder web with a few stitches would work- make sure the tuck goes the right way. You don't want fingers poking at the open end every time the sleeve slides on. It needs to be folded so the pocket goes the other way.

If my grandson had velcro on his sleeves he'd come home with all sorts of stuff hanging off his arms! Tuck the lining as suggested.

Alterations place would do this, so it could be let down again in future if wanted.

For now fold the sleeve up to where you want it, press with a damp cloth and secure with a few stitches inside just at the seams - so there's something to stitch to but it doesn't show outside.

If they aren't comedy long I'd leave it, kids grow!
