I would have small bowl of full fat Greek yogurt with berries (the frozen ones are good), herbal tea for breakfast, will fill you up. Or hard boiled eggs and a slice of toast. Then an apple sliced with a teaspoon of peanut butter spread on or dipped in for morning snack, a sandwich thin with slice of ham or chicken and salad and then a big salad on the side plus a bag of baked crisps to satisfy the snack urge. Carrot and pepper sticks in the afternoon or naked bar if desperate for something sweet, then small salmon or chicken fillet with vegetables for dinner. Fruit tea throughout the day. Probably a bit over 800 calories BUT will fill you up and stop you blowing it. Marinate the meat in spices to keep it interesting.
Also sustainable for several weeks and combined with upping your exercise, should get you off to a good start. Good luck!

I’m doing Fast800, so a typical day would be black coffee in the morning, and I break fast at around 12pm.

I have eggs, Total yogurt with berries, or chia pudding for ‘breakfast’ and then steamed fish or tofu or chicken with tons of green veggies and butter for dinner.

Very simple, I try and keep it as easy as possible so I don’t get stressed with meal planning. After the first week the hunger subsides and I feel great! It is hard to start with though.

I think 800 calories you would be starving. More realistic to aim for 1000-1200 and you will still lose weight

Porridge made with water (bleurgh) is only 180 calories but I have to add 1/4 milk, 3/4 water or its inedible.

Lots of cucumber, celery etc for lunch plus 2 hard boiled eggs and maybe some chicken pieces, the more salad the longer it takes to eat.

Piece of sea bass for tea, if you made your own sauce it would be lower calories but i just chuck a jar of Bolognese sauce on it with a minimal amount of cheese.

Oh and Quorn is much higher in protein but lower in fat than chicken. And works really well for Mexican. So I had fajitas last night with quorn chicken pieces and it felt like a proper meal, whereas a single piece of sea bass always feels a bit sad!

I do drink alcohol on 800 - 900 calories, but only a small amount at the weekend. A gin with diet tonic for example or a small brandy/glass of red wine. It is cheating a bit on a low carb diet to have artificial sweeteners in the tonic though.

I eat eggs on 2 cracker bread for breakfast or Greek yoghurt with 20g walnuts and raspberries for breakfast. Or celery stick with peanut butter and a babybel cheese.
Then dinner, which is salmon and salad or chicken and low carb veg. Occasionally a beef casserole or chilli with veg. I allow 100-200 calories for oil dressing or mayonnaise. No bread, potatoes, rice or pasta. No sugar or diet drinks except for the mixer at the weekend.
I eat 2 squares of low carb dark chocolate per day.
When I first started a month ago, I looked up calories per tbsp of mayo/oil/peanut butter do that I knew what a portion looked like.

I've done this for a quick fix few days but not long term:

Breakfast
Two hard boiled eggs and two Heck sausages (bulk cook these)

Lunch
Salad: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, mushrooms, chopped pear, low fat Caesar dressing, two mini Babybel lights

Tea
Stir fry of onion, mushrooms, prawns and broccoli.

A lot of tea with unsweetened almond milk (I litre - 130 calories)

I use MyFitnessPal and it won’t let me record in the diary when I eat less than 1000 calories for the day as it’s classed as not enough for the day.

CatbearAmo · 01/09/2020 12:39

I agree with H1978. I use my fitness pal too, which is great for calorie counting by the way. There's a reason though, why you shouldn't go below 1000. Its counterproductive in the long run.
If you really want to achieve the 800 calories effect, you could burn an extra 200 calories in some kind of activity, and eat 1000. Like go on a long walk every lunch break, or do a Youtube video. Might also help your body look toned, which can be far more valuable than weight loss.
