Help me identify this book/film/TV series

I can't even remember if I read or watched it but the principal character is a vicar's wife, has a daughter who's being bullied and ends up going to a catholic school taught by nuns. The mother has a qualification in French "but not good enough to teach in a State school" and ends up teaching French at her daughter's school

Can anyone tell me what it's called as it is driving me mad.
