How?! How are there strands of my hair wound around weeds I've pulled up?!

I realise that is a bizarre question but I'm totally flummoxed!

Part of our garden is a herringbone brick path, and weeds grow beautifully in the cracks :).

Finally got round today to pulling some weeds up. The first handful I pulled out had something long and very fine trailing from it. Closer inspection showed it to be my hair! And there was some of my hair in almost every knot of weeds, including from different sections of the path!

How?! And why? So strange - we've lived here for years and this has never happened before. And why only my hair and not also my dd's?!

Not sure if this will help solve the mystery but here's a picture of a bit of the brickwork.

Do you brush your hair in the garden? I do - so as not to shed hairs in the house! Perhaps you're shedding more hair than usual?

gile no I don't. In fact, I only ever run my fingers through my hair, and only when I wash it! It's just so weird.
