Has anyone had a postal covid test done? When did you get the results?

Last week DD caught a cold at sports camp most likely, she spiked a temp, and we sent off for a covid test as instructed.

Sent off for the tests on Monday morning, they didn't arrive until 9pm on Wednesday. Did the tests and sent them back first thing on Thursday. Still no results and as it is Bank Holiday I am assuming it will be Tuesday at the earliest before I get them.

This just isn't going to work as a testing system when she goes back to school! She has problems with recurrent throat and ear infections (massively reduced during lock down). I reckon we would have to test about once every 6 to 8 weeks on average. She would miss huge amounts of school!

We don't drive so can't access the drive in places. Anyone know a speedier option for testing?

I sent mine off on a Saturday and had the results Monday morning. I guess it varies.

Oooh and speedier option is there a walk in centre near you?

Our results were collected Monday morning and the results back Wednesday late afternoon.

I posted our test specimens on Monday afternoon and the results came by email on Wednesday afternoon.

DD got her results the day after her swabs were collected.

Mine never came back got the text confirming they’d received and nothing else

I sent mine back on the Friday and got my results the following Wednesday.

Never heard anything back!

I sent mine and ds's on Thursday, had his results this afternoon but not had mine yet. Don't think it will be affected by the bank holiday though.

Sent on Wednesday, results on Friday afternoon.

Mine was collected on a Monday morning at 8am and got my result on text and email at about 7pm the next day.

Ive had 2 now postal for me and my children. Both times the results were less than 48 hours
