Neighbours playing music. So anti social

God, is it just me?! I hate hearing other people's crappy music. Whhyyyy do they have to inflict it upon us? It's such an antisocial thing to do. Arghhh I moved to a quiet village thinking it's a good mix of rural and keeping in touch with other people. But no. I just hate other people. Looking at moving now from our perfect home :(

Uft

So sorry for you, OP.

I’ve had to move house in the past because of anti social neighbours and their fucking loud music.

I love music. I play it every day. No one outside my home will ever hear it. Why? Because I keep it at a reasonable volume or use headphones.

They are utter fuckwits and I wish a plague of locusts upon them.

Thank you :)

Yes it is so draining and it's really affecting my mental health. When it started up today i was just straight on the phone to our mortgage provider to see if we will invite a few to switch it to a new property. Fuckers I just hate people like this. So selfish.

It's horrible and really does affect your mental health - when it starts up, it literally makes my entire body tense and it's all I can focus on! And I just think how loud it must be in their house to be so loud in ours!

Luckily when our neighbour clocked that I was pregnant, he said he wouldn't have parties round there anymore. We'll see how long that lasts 🙁

Starksforthewin · 29/08/2020 17:30

The impact on mental health is huge.

Home is supposed to be a haven. I ended up close to a breakdown with the stress of waiting for it to start very day and night. Had to take sleeping pills to get any rest.

I will hate those people until the day I die. I would vote for any government who legislated against the scourge of anti social, preventable, noise.

Oh yes! We have inconsiderate arseholes for neighbours too and I'm seriously thinking of moving as well. Please take my advice OP, never buy a house at the end of a street with other houses around the corner. We did and we have FIVE immediate neighbours. Hellish Sad

ittooshallpass · 29/08/2020 17:44

I have really inconsiderate neighbours too 😩 I've lived in my house with lovely neighbours and no loud music for 12 years... new neighbours move in and it's just a constant bass beat. The noise is so loud the glasses in my kitchen cupboards rattle!

I've asked countless times for them to turn it down. It goes down a teeny bit for 10 minutes and then it's back up again. I can't stand it. My brain is fried. It is just horrendous. I hope they move soon!

ExclamationPerfume · 29/08/2020 17:46

Oh yes. We have a selfish neighbour. Her parties go on until 4/5 in the morning. She is moving out soon we have been told. I have had thoughts of hiring a hitman.

Pumperthepumper · 29/08/2020 17:49

I get it, I actually really like my neighbours but they are incredibly selfish about noise, their dogs, where they park - I’d love to move because the lack of peace drives me bananas. They are nice people though so I’d hate to fall out with them but they never think of anyone else.

Report to environmental health, record it as often as possible. Some EH dept use The Noise App, which is ideal for recording the noise levels.

Horehound · 29/08/2020 18:23

We have all lovely neighbours and these people seemed ok but the last year things have been getting more and more anti social. I wonder why they've changed really. Music is louder. I went to out baby to bed and it's so loud in his room

I don't want to be complaining but ffs it's ridiculous. They are over the road and one to the right from us so i really feel for the neighbours right beside them!
