Does anyone use turmeric for general aches etc and find it works? If so what are you taking? Thank you Smile

I take it and I think it does something. My joints feel a bit less achy. Holland & Barrett own brand. I take 2 a day.

I take a fermented liquid turmeric to reduce inflammatio caused by running. It took a long time to have any effect but the problems I was having have gone and I haven't had new ones, despite increasing mileage during lockdown far beyond what was "safe" for me prior to that. Previously I always got injured if I did more than 25m per week, I'm currently up to 40+ with no issues (fingers crosses/touch wood!)

If your menopausal HRT is supposed to work for this.

I was recommended to take some - but it didn’t do anything for me. However the person who recommended it avoided having to have an operation as it worked so well for her.

I found one a day concentrated turmeric really helped my joint pains, about 70-80% increasing the dose to twice daily made no difference though. I would recommend trying it.

Recently started, organic turmeric with black pepper & ginger by Nutravita from Amazon.
Recommended by a dog walker for plantar fasciitis. I think it is helping.

Anyone see the photo circulating on the internet of the cat whose owner overdid the Tumeric dose....Snowy the cat became yellow :)

Anyway, thanks for tips here ...off to H&B tomorrow for my dodgy joints

Has anyone else had good results from turmeric with black pepper for joint pain/arthritis?

lifestooshort123 · 05/09/2020 08:53

I started taking the turmeric with black pepper 2 weeks ago so too early to tell yet. I would say that they smell yuk and have the same yukky aftertaste so they better work!

superstar63 · 08/09/2020 08:41

I started about a week ago and have read some reviews that some people got good results in a week but most are saying it can take 6 - 8 weeks so will KOKO.

I am an all or nothing person and not very patient and usually if something doesnt help quickly then I give up but not this time!

lifestooshort123 · 09/09/2020 07:35

Well, I've been taking them now for 3 weeks and had my first pain-free night's sleep for nearly a year. A coincidence? I hope not.

lifestooshort, That sounds promising and I hope it continues, please update when you can.

Docus - That article is very interesting and maybe I need to use it in food more.

I’m just coming on to say turmeric makes my dog smell like urine 🤢
Apparently it’s a very common reaction!
