Can you add people into photos?

Is there a way of making it look quite professional ?

Went to visit my grandmother today, before she’s admitted into a care home next week and whilst my mum remembered to take dozens of photos of me with her, she and I somehow forgot to get a photo of mum with gran . (Her mother in law)

There isn’t much chance of me seeing gran again if at all, so not sure what’s best - have lots of photos of gran in her younger years but I’m absolutely devastated I’ve forgotten a photo of mum/gran together . As is mum . I genuinely didn’t think and feel absolutely dreadful .

Can a photographer add two photos together and make it look quite good or will it always look a bit strange ? I vaguely remember my maternal grandfather’s parents had a wedding photo that was somehow two individual photos ‘joined’ together, but that was B&W and taken in 1960s so a bit different !

Anyone have any experience of this ?

If the pics were taken at the same time, on the same device (camera or smart phone), then anyone competent with Photoshop ought to be able to lash a couple of them together. You simply choose a picture with "space" for the additional person, chose another with the person on it, cut out the missing person and paste it into the space.

Either paste gran into a pic of you mum or the other way round.
