Anyone caught in the storm / torrential rain in Dorchester today?

DP and I visited Dorchester earlier today and I have honestly never seen such heavy rainfall in so short a time! Caught out trying to get back from shops to Brewery car park and despite sheltering in doorways etc it was quite challenging. At one point DP stepped off the kerb into what turned out to be a very deep puddle (probably more than 7-8 inches) and didn't appreciate me laughing so much - then a car came round the corner through this puddle and drenched me! Karma? We took a wrong turn (only been to Dorchester a couple of times) and couldn't find the car so had to keep walking, soaked through to my knickers. Then the road out of town was flooded so DP took what he thought might be a short cut through unknown country lanes .... branches and stones everywhere! Not such a good idea. Arrived home to find the village enjoying blue sky and sunshine Smile

I live a few miles outside Dorchester and it was totally torrential!

My DH works at the hospital and he said the A35 was closed, his usual route home, due to flooding, which is unusual.

Then 10 minutes later it was beautiful sunshine!

Yes, MuseumofYou, my neighbours couldn't believe it when we got out of the car with clothing obviously sodden, looking like drowned rats - oh and the wet paper carrier shopping bags tore at that precise moment ....
