If you're a care worker in a home, how often are you getting tested?

Just the thread title. I've been told regular testing, but don't know what this means really.

I was tested once, off my own bat because I had symptoms.

Was back in April. No tests since.

Work with young adults with LD rather than elderly. Maybe that makes a difference?

locked2020 · 27/08/2020 20:20

Thanks. Yes, I was referring to elderly, although I'd have thought regular testing should apply to all types of care homes.

I'm a nurse working in a secure care home. Still waiting for a test and not expecting it soon.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 27/08/2020 21:13

Nurse in a nursing home here, we are all tested weekly even though a lot of us already had it.

Family member is tested weekly

Lifeisabeach09 · 27/08/2020 22:12

Weekly at the moment but this is only recent (past 3 weeks). I don't think the roll out is widespread as yet. I'm SE.

Thanks.

Weekly, had 1 done this morning. Have had 9 tests so far, all negative.

Pheobeasy · 17/09/2020 15:10

It's been weekly here for a while, my friend works in a private care home.

Pinkstars2501 · 17/09/2020 15:38

Ours has been weekly for a while. Bit pointless really because the results are taking roughly 5/6 days to come back, so the 7 days isolation you'd need is already almost up.... Excellent system 🙄

vodkaredbullgirl · 17/09/2020 15:43

Yes ours have been coming back late too. Had a test done on a Tuesday got it back the following Monday.
