Volvo XC60 rearfacing middle seat?

Number three due imminently and although according to the user guides the seats should be ok, our joie steadi is not going to cut the mustard in the middle seat.

Has anyone managed to get a rear facing car seat in the middle seat of an XC60? If so, how?!!

If it's anything like a V60, a child seat in the middle Is impossible. It's too narrow. I have two seats in the back of my V60 and the middle seat is rendered useless - it's a glorified crap holder for the kids 😩

This is my fear... it'll be me who has to sit in there since there is no way DH's legs will get in 😭 I have been looking some more, at a push i might just get away with an a axkid mini but I'm not sure without trying. Which seats do you have in the V60?

the joie tilt is really narrow. i have 2 of them and an axkid mini which is a bit wider. i dont have the volvo though. if you live near me you are welcome to try them out. the incare safety center might help or ask on fear facing toddlers on facebook. they are very helpful x

Thanks a lot @memememe, I'm not in the uk unfortunately, but could I ask what the distance is that you need between the belt and the buckle for the axkid mini? I was trying to figure it out online but they only give the total width. I have 28cm to play with.

Having said that I think I might have figured it out, if I have the britax max way in the middle and the joie stages in one side then it looks like with an isofix the infant carrier will fit! Only problem is we don't have an isofix base 😂 I will order one and update!

Ok for posterity's sake in case it is useful for anyone in the future. It works! Joie steadi, britax Max way (in the middle) and britax infant carrier with isofix. Won't work in Volvo XC60s from 2013 onwards since the britax can't go in the middle.

Taking the isofix in and out is not easy but this might be because I've not had an isofix base before and not used to it yet. Who and installing them all took about two years off my life 😂
