I've just been reading this interesting article, which says that "secret" family recipes are nowhere near as secret as we seem to think.

I've wondered about this before. Surely there's not that many versions you can have of any given classic recipe. It must be very difficult to come up with a truly original recipe for anything, but easier to market it differently.
