I’ve been thinking about this recently (having a mini ‘existential’ crisis during the lockdown). I live near a churchyard where very few of the graves are ever visited. I find it so sad that the occupants have seemingly been forgotten about. I love walking round reading names and snippets of information from the headstones but I want to know more about the people.
I take an interest in genealogy (though I’ve only dabbled) and I’ve been chatting with family members about relatives who have passed away. Often there are a couple of ‘headline’ facts. What would you like yours to be?
I won’t be remembered for any amazing feats (so far!) but I’d like to think I’ll be thought of well, for being a generally good person - well intentioned, kind, helpful and keen to get involved. Perhaps you can inspire me to do more!
