Where are both my sets of car keys...?

Have somehow lost 2 out of our 3 sets of car keys. Any ideas? I’ve looked in most obvious places but now need to have a thorough search of the house until I find them. Don’t dare tell DH yet...!

Coat pockets? Any other pockets? Shopping bags? And the obvious: handbag but a different pocket from normal?

I've no idea

But I do pay £15 a year for key care cover on my car Insurance

I've lost multiple keys and it's brilliant

Where were you last time you had them and what were you doing/wearing?

Drawer. Shopping bag. Jeans pocket Handbag. Coat pocket. Table - under the mask you took off last time you were out.

Urgh it’s been a while... I know I had two sets on Friday?! Last saw the third like a month ago. So, so annoying. I need to attach them to my house keys and then I won’t lose them. In and out with the children and I always put them down in some mysterious place, it seems.

If a spare key is missing look in random casserole pots, on top of door frames, in used wedding presents. Behind picture frames. ( I spent much of my youth looking for spare keys in my parent house). Non spare key : door stairs loo ledges, sofa make sure there is not a tear that it has got into, look around where parcels are normally left. Fridge, freezer etc. Check all bags and pockets that they do not have torn lining. Bottom drawer of bedside lockers. Safe. Glass press in kitchen. Junk drawer if you have one.

Do they have a usual place? My live on a side table up against a wall and have fallen behind it sometimes. Not somewhere I'd usually check like a coat or a bag so it's worth moving furniture.

"in and out with the children"....BINGO!Grin How old are they, OP?
Start thinking like a child....
Good luck!

2.5yo and 8 months... the 8mo is immobile (in the sense of crawling/rolling) so it won’t have been him. I think it’s more likely they’re in the depths of the buggies (we have two 🙄) than the toddler has moved them, but I had already looked...

I’ve checked all obvious surfaces, the “usual” place and surrounding area (nowhere for them to fall behind), the nappy bag, my two handbags, coat pockets...

Shoes, check all shoes.

Goostacean · 26/08/2020 15:17

Right, I’ve found the “spare” set- in my Drawer of Important Things. Phew. Passports etc live there. So now I’m just missing “my” set, which is much more likely to be in a sensible-but-random place...

Check coat pockets, hoodie pockets, jeans/shorts

Handbags, including any you think you haven’t used for ages.

Buggy pockets, baby bag, toddler nursery bag

Toddlers toy bags, toy box, basket of his bike, brick trolley

Fridge, freezer

hartof · 26/08/2020 21:22

I hide my spares in a box of tea bags. Are they there?

topcat2014 · 26/08/2020 21:24

when you find them, hopefully they will be with my HSBC logon 'thing' that I couldn't find earlier :) and have phoned to get a new one

Watto1 · 26/08/2020 21:24

Does your eldest have any toys with secret compartments? Our TV remote turned up (after we had spent £££ ordering a new one) in the storage compartment under the seat of dd’s little ride-on truck. Also once found one of her socks inside the printer.

Last time I lost mine for a few days they were under a box of cat food that had been delivered and I'd plonked down.
Any boxes you've had delivered recently??
