We were struggling to find Heinz bbq beans for ages. Now they've come back in stock and we can't find Heinz sweet bbq sauce.

JacobReesMogadishu · 25/08/2020 17:19

I only have Henderson’s and have managed to keep getting that ok.

What do people eat it with ? I have a bottle in the press that's years old . I occasionally throw a splash in if I'm making a cottage pie but other than that I'd have no idea what to use it for

Yes, struggled to get any Lea and Perrins. Got a supermarket own brand but never heard of Henderson’s

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 25/08/2020 17:31

Not been able to find sodding Marmite for months. I’m not in the UK though so I can’t tell if they just stopped selling it or can’t get any.

Might have to go to the British shop.

Deathraystare · 25/08/2020 19:02

Also Robinson's barley water disappeared for a while but back now too.

Yes! Saw that in the Co op too, but didn't have enough money for it :(

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually - yes I believe there was a thread about it as well as a Worcestershire sauce one. For a while it was not to be had for love or money but luckily I did find some Marmite!

naturallydelicious on anything savoury! Cheese on toast, baked beans, stews, soups and casseroles. I have to control myself or everything would taste the same! Same problem with Marmite!

I'm in the US and it has been SO hard to get the lea and perrins or even any of the own brand ones here for the past couple of months. It used to be easily available. I managed to get one bottle a couple of weeks ago. I thought I was the only one who noticed the world-wide shortage :)

longwayoff · 25/08/2020 20:36

Henderson available on Amazon.

Mrsjayy · 25/08/2020 21:28

A slightly pretentious food hall near me sells Hendersons relish j saw it at Christmas , I'm in Scotland

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 25/08/2020 21:56

I got a twin pack from Costco it comes in massive bottles. So I'm set till about 2030.

WeAllHaveWings · 25/08/2020 22:01

We dont use much Worcester sauce, but ran out and got a bottle in tesco with no problems.

I am missing my lime vodka (Smirrnoff, or if none Absolute will do), there hasn't been any in our local supermarkets/shops for months.

VictoriousSockPuppet · 25/08/2020 22:07

L&P back in our local supermarkets now, but it's a while.
However, like ItsJustTheOneSwanActually, I was going to say marmite nowhere.
I blame brexit

WouldBeGood · 25/08/2020 22:10

I use Worcester sauce every day in my morning tomato juice.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 25/08/2020 22:18

I work in retail, and we’ve managed to stock marmite, Frosties, Crunchy Nut cornflakes and even loo roll through most of lockdown.

Worcestershire sauce however we’ve not been able to get in months! Certain beers and ciders are also a real struggle to get hold of atm. Weirdly Schweppes bitter lemon, Wispa Gold, washing machine pods in larger packs, and large tins of sweet corn have also disappeared. Oh, and tubes of fruit gums. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Imissmoominmama · 25/08/2020 22:21

I bought a bottle of Henderson’s relish in our local Booths (Lancashire) last week. Interestingly, it was next to the Worcestershire Sauce.

You’re all going to the wrong shops! Grin

LifesRichPattern · 25/08/2020 23:47

I think Marmite should be back soon. One of the ingredients is from the brewing industry, which contracted sharply in lockdown. Now the pubs are open......

Bluesheep8 · 26/08/2020 06:48

A PP asked about it's uses...I use a few good sploshes in every dish I make using minced beef, also add it to baked beans for extra flavour and splosh onto cheese on toast

Bluesheep8 · 26/08/2020 06:49

Do you mean brewers yeast? There's loads of marmite in Aldi, has been all the way through.

Mrsjayy · 26/08/2020 07:02

I also splosh it in most things stews Bolognese (I know sacralidge) cheese sauce, it has many uses.

Deathraystare · 26/08/2020 07:26

I managed to get marmite a while back and it is there every time I go to the little Sainsbury's now but before it was missing.

Now I want bitter lemon!

Haven’t been able to find Maille bearnaise for three months now. Last time I saw it I got three pots but haven’t seen it since. I’ll eat any Béarnaise but it’s not to be found!

silentpool · 26/08/2020 07:50

I noticed the Worcestershire shortage, thought it was weird. But I randomly found L&P in the magic aisle at Lidl.
