What is the female equivalent to 'having balls'?

What would be the casual way to describe a brave or courageous female?
Cohones...balls...stones...all male and guts seems wishywashy.
What would be the equivalent to describe a female?

I have said in the past - ovaries of steel.

TheQueef · 25/08/2020 12:52

Oh I do like that! I'm a Sheffielder so especially the steel bit, good one Grin

Chesticles?

TheQueef · 25/08/2020 13:00

Chesticles is too male.
Although when a job is going wrong or something needs extra effort or brain power we do say 'it needs some tits on that job' as a counter to tits up.

Warrior.

I have always used chutzpah. Never thought of the masculine/feminine aspect of it.

ClaudiaWankleman · 25/08/2020 13:03

To have mettle?

TheQueef · 25/08/2020 13:04

Is chutzpah Yiddish for balls?
(Watched a lot of judge Judy always assumed it did)

picklemewalnuts · 25/08/2020 13:05

Gutsy is quite good.
Relentless
Indefatigable
Steely
Tenacious

picklemewalnuts · 25/08/2020 13:06

Spine of steel.

Inching · 25/08/2020 13:06

Chutzpah is more bigtime self-confidence, nerve, gall etc.

picklemewalnuts · 25/08/2020 13:08

Chutzpah is from insolence, cheek, audacity.

Bold is a good word. As is audacious.

I say 'ovaries'. Really pisses a lot of people off. Instant downvote time in many of the reddit communities I am in. Especially when I use it about men. But if I am supposed to regard "she's got balls" as a compliment and it's not sexist at all, then why oh why is "he's got ovaries" not a compliment about a man?

ThickFast · 25/08/2020 13:11

I say grow some ovaries

Manolin · 25/08/2020 13:16

Not having balls?

Surely the most used phrase on here is something like 'hoist the big girls pants up'. Not sure that sounds right though?

thecatsthecats · 25/08/2020 13:23

Backbone. I've heard core of steel too.

ErrmWTAF · 25/08/2020 13:26

"She got lab" - I first heard it a couple of decades ago.

StormBaby · 25/08/2020 13:35

Mettle. Backbone. Heart. Grit

Obviouspretzel · 25/08/2020 13:58

Brass ring piece for either sex.
