Just that really. We've come back from a wet and windy week in Wales with colds, sore throats, threadworms, and discovered the cat has brought fleas in. Make me laugh while I fumigate the whole house and our innards.

One childhood holiday then my brothers “souvenir” was nits and mine was a verruca. Good luck with the fumigating!

A large stone.
Apparently its DDs very important "stone baby" and had to come home with us.
She forgot about it for a bit and I put it in a plant pot as a sort of decorative stone feature.
DD was horrified.
Apparently this is not an appropriate home for a "stone baby" at all. Its in her room now.

A six foot long ‘stick’ with spiky branches all over it. DS refused to leave it behind and seemed to become emotionally attached to it. We had to drive home with it down the centre of the car.

We're currently dealing with fleas at home, I feel your pain.

One year, we rented a very expensive gite in the Vendee which actually came with fleas, for our holiday convenience. That was nice.

Then a couple of years ago, at another expensive gite, we were furnished with tatty, obviously elderly, outdoor rattan chairs that were bleached and split by the sun, most with holes in the sagging seats where the rattan had frayed. I am not a slight woman but we were sitting quietly, and totally still, having a meal and my seat totally split underneath me and I almost disappeared from view.

They accused us of damaging their property, all 6 chairs, and withheld the entire £250 deposit. After a long email exchange they refused to budge. I knew that if i complained on trip advisor, they would retaliate and say we were vandals so I wrote them a polite neutral review saying it was nice but with about 14 points that needed minor attention.
Her frosty reply would have been about 6 side of A4 if handwritten. Must have taken her hours. Its still there and I look at it occasionally and smile.

A broken tailbone and an important life lesson that kids wavy slides are not really intended for adults.

Oooof @HexyAndIKnowIt that's bad! Ouch

I should have added a bad back relapse and 5lb excess weight to my list...

Nits! That was fun, discovered half way through our holiday last year.

Cue - hunting down fresh pillows in a supermarche (convinced it was their pillows) and having to buy nit solution in a very chic french chemist. Then delousing two children in a tiny caravan bathroom- fun and games!

Threadworms from France for DS, I noticed them the night before we were driving home (naturally it was a Saturday night so we couldn't even get anything to get rid of them the next day as all pharmacies were closed 🤦🏻‍♀️)

I remember being about 6/7 and my parents discovering nits in my hair in Cornwall

At least its not just us.
