Are Ikea Stuva drawers etc any good?

I want to get my 2 and a half year old a set of furniture for her bedroom and am looking at the Ikea Stuva system. As I'm classed as vulnerable I don't feel comfortable visiting Ikea to take a look at it all - but am finding it difficult to make my mind as I'd like to get a feel for the roominess and sturdiness etc.

So - to any of you who have Stuva - may I ask a few questions please?

How deep are the slim drawers? They look like they wouldn't hold much and i want this set last a while, as my daughters clothes get bigger! for example - could you fit Ikea SKUBB boxes in them? (this is what her clothes are in currently)

And how deep are the bigger drawers? are they sturdy enough to withhold use by a very active, loves to climb, little girl?

How long do you think the little desk would last, size-wise?

This is the set up I'm looking at - with extra drawer until beneath the wardrobe (as in the photo attached here) - does it look like enough storage for a 2-say 7/8 year+ old?

She doesn't have masses and masses of clothes, but would like room to also store books, bedclothes, towels and swim gear - few soft toys for now.

All opinions welcome :) thanks.

Our local ikea had limited entry, queues outside , hand sanitizer stations everywhere and health& safety chap talking to the queue about importance of mask wearing so please feel assured if you visit a store, may take s bit longer than expected 😂 can’t advise on Stuva though sorry as got desk and wardrobe 😂

The stuva is nice and solid. The wardrobe and drawers are mostly 60cm wide and 50cm deep.
My only issue is the drop for hanging clothes is too small past a certain age unless you have the tall wardrobe without drawers.

We have the wardrobes, but the taller ones, with a mesh basket at the top and 2 hanging rails. My daughters have one each, they are pretty sturdy, lots of space but my eldest at 8 is now starting to need more hanging length, so I will probably move her top rail higher and pop her wire drawer at the base soon. They also have the desk to share and it's a good height still at 8 for sitting at, I think maybe my eldest has another year out of it? She is quite small for her age though- 25th centile for height.

My dd’s entire room is Stuva. She has the loft bed with desk. Then we have a couple of countertop height cabinets and a taller cabinet with drawers. Super well made. We are very happy with them.

I had a stub a system for my daughter from when she was a baby til she was 8 and needed more space. It was great, very sturdy

I have stuva fir my 4DC. As PP said, wardrobes are short but the furniture is solid and we are happy. The kids all have the beds too

Ds has various stuva cabinets, we are still happy with them 6 or 7 years on. Its Ben great over the years to be able to add and change bits around as hes grown.

I'd say the shallow drawers are not going to fit the skubb boxes, there are a couple of similar dividers they make to fit them. We had shallow draws initially but there did come a point where t shirts and pjs were getting bigger and just didn't fit. We switched to a couple of deeper draws and a basket in the wardrobe when he was about 9.

I'm not a big fan of the basket drawer, it doesn't slide as nicely as the proper drawers and limits the hanging space. The deep drawers fit loads but he finds it hard to find what he wants. My perfect set up would probably be three mid sized ones, but they dont make that Sad

I'd say the desk is quite small, he was 6 when we were doing his room and decided it was too small. They do a couple of basic kids desks in white which work with the stuva though.

Thanks for all your comments, very useful. I've gone ahead and ordered a few sets of Stuva drawers now - with the aim to add on more furniture when its needed down the line.
