Bit of a long shot but any opticians about?

Sorry for the pic but yesterday had this come up in my eye... light brown spot thing. It felt for a second like I’d got a hair stuck in my eye (I was sat still in the car at the time) and looked in the mirror to get it out (there was nothing there) and saw this instead!

I’ve got a lot of autoimmune conditions (lupus, sjorgens, Addisons, hypothyroidism, anaemia etc etc). I messaged my local opticians with the pic as I had a retinal check there just a week ago as Id started hydroxy for the lupus and they wanted a baseline for that - my retinas were fine, I am very short sighted -9.50 both eyes so I am nervous about my eyes anyway and know there’s a long term retinal risk to taking hydroxycholoquine - but this coloured spot doesn’t seem related to that. Anyway - opticians said not worry at this stage and just to monitor it (!) but what is it..?! Any ideas?

Should I get a second opinion? My sight doesn’t seem to be affected and it’s not painful now.

Weird! Confused

OP, bumping for you.

Google suggests an eye mole? www.specsavers.com.au/help-and-faqs/what-is-causing-my-eye-spot

I believe the recommendation is to be very conservative with eye changes. I'd be going back to the opticians (or the eye hospital if not helpful). I'd also speak to your Lupus consultant, in case it's linked to the meds.

Hopefully it's nothing, but I hope you get the reassurance you need.

Thank you very much for replying, I really appreciate it.

I did wonder if it might be a mole but I’ve never noticed it before and it just seems to have suddenly come up! Although it’s perfectly possible I’ve never noticed it before given that when I’m looking straight ahead you can’t see it and it’s only as i turned my eye to the side to check for a hair etc that I noticed it.

Very strange! Will definitely mention it to my consultant when I see them next week.
