Warning Spider

Massive spider just ran over my partners chest and over our pillows. Big enough for my spider friendly partner to shout fuck and jump out of bed. Me, I jumped out screaming!

It went behind the headboard.

We've pulled the bed out, tipped it up and can't find the bugger!.

And now I'm supposed to go to sleep!???

I know they are probably more frightened of me but it was mahoosive and on this occasion I'm definitely more frightened of it.

May have to keep the lights on all night!

DH found one in the kitchen and captured it in a pint glass and threw it outside. The next night there wasn't one that he knew of but the night after there was and he said it was the same one he threw out. So it must take a couple of days to get back in. It was even in the exact same spot in the kitchen!
Weird.

I came home from a weekend away to find my male 30 year old lodger camping in the lounge.

On Friday evening, after I went away, he went into his bedroom and there was a large spider on the ceiling.

He left the room and closed the door and hadn't been back in since.

I got back late on Sunday evening

He was wearing the same clothes, including pants and socks, that he had had on on the Friday and if I hadn't gone in and removed the spider.

Lord only knows what he would have done if I had gone away for a fortnight.

Oh, and it was big, but I've seen bigger

Homebodiva · 20/08/2020 22:21

Ooh just googled. Mine was a giant house spider. It must be mistaken as I live in a flat 😂 On the third floor 😂

Homebodiva · 20/08/2020 22:29

@RealityExistsInTheHumanMind What if you were terrified of spiders too? He'd be screwed 😂

When I was growing up I would scream if I saw a spider, have a hissy fit, and make someone, usually DF catch it and chuck it out never quite trusting they'd really thrown it out properly.

@Awwlookatmybabyspider

I love the Arrrggghhhh Spider! book (yes I know it’s for kids)

It completely cured me of my house spider phobia.

I reckon I was taken in by the glitter. Grin

I catch and relocate them to different areas of the house. And I can do it with my hands usually. Apart from once. It sounded like an eight legged Shetland pony was running round the kitchen. I had to catch that one in a Pyrex.

@Homebodiva I always make my partner show me his hands once he's released the spiders!

Last nights spider had to be coaxed into a pint glass - his legs were outside the edges of the glass 😱

No more sightings of our last night's bedroom guest. But reading all your stories has made me jumpy again 😂

@StopChelping. I love the bit at the end when Mr Spider introduces his family to all his friends. 🤣🤣
Oh and the part where he’s in the trolley my cute aggression goes through the roof. Grin
