What little things have made you happy recently?

With all the negative things happening in the world at the moment, what little inconsequential things have made you happy recently?

Mine are I used to really love the smell of the Radox stress relief bubble bath but they changed the formula and it’s not nice now. I took a chance on ordering some bottles of it online hoping it might be older stock. It arrived yesterday and it is the older nicer ones. Smile

The other good thing that has happened recently is that I’ve had a skin condition for years that was never diagnosed properly and some doctors had been quite dismissive of it and one once said it was all in my head! Hmm I had a biopsy done finally and I’ve got a very rare condition. They don’t know what causes it but they do know how to treat it. So hopefully starting on medication for it soon to clear it up.

Watching snails in my window box makes DS very happy.

A local farm shop cafe is doing drive thru where you can then park up and drink and eat with a nice view. Even without the Covid risk I love this idea as the prospect of wrangling my 3 year and baby into a cafe doesn’t really interest me; this way the baby will sleep and the 3 year can be restrained in her seat with a treat and it’s far nicer than a costa drive thru car park.

We also got two guinea pigs six weeks ago after wanting some for ages, me and DD can just spend hours watching them running around and having fun.

Mrs blackbird coming to call for some seed. She sits on a plant pot by the conservatory window, she looks in and flaps her wings. When we take a bowl out, she jumps straight in. She’s quite happy to be only inches away from us Smile

I came across a Boots perfume mini set thing on eBay, I used to have it when I was 18. It's got fcuk, inis, kangol and a couple of others and it smells like my drunken nights out when nothing really mattered. I love it.

Sunset over the islands in the Clyde
cows and sheep in the fields
the smell of ripening tomatoes on the greenhouse

Finding this photo of sadly recently departed ddog made me smile...
RIP my beautiful girl.

Our rescue feral kittens have started to purr and want to be fussed.
Saw a chitty chitty bang bang type car drive past.
Both things made my heart soar.

Garden full of flowers. Ds has been looking after them.

Sunnydaysandsalad, Lovely photo. I miss mine too.

We went out to a market town yesterday and came across a grandfather clock outside a clock repairers. The slow, tick tock sound was amazing and I just stood with my ear glued to the case for ages.

I'd love one, but dh has measured our ceiling height and it's too low.

Woke up early yesterday morning to the sound of really heavy rain on my window, and my DD snuggled up under the duvet next to me. Popped my coffee maker on, grabbed a book and spent the next hour reading, drinking coffee in bed, listening to the rain outside with DD snoring away. It felt very much like I'd completely engaged with the moment, and it was lovely.

Glad you have finally got a diagnosis Flowers

My history novels and blu rays, the roses near us I’ve loved seeing them on our daily little walk.

My conception/pregnancy books have all arrived and it's a horrible rainy and windy day so this afternoon I'm going to curl up under a fluffy blanket and read Smile

alangarneristerrifying · 19/08/2020 13:57

I cycled through a narrow gap (pedestrian gate sized) AND up a hill today, which made me very happy. I'm a very wobbly cyclist (dyspraxia) so that's an achievement.
Yesterday I looked at younger dbro playing the piano and realised how very talented he is, and how much I love him Smile (then I gave him a hug and was enveloped in the unmistakable aroma of unwashed teenage boy, but hey, you can't have everythingGrin)
